People in this day and age have been all over the place, up to space, to a smaller degree, to depths of the Earth. Can someone please tell me where Heaven and Hell are supposed to be?

Certainly not within the confines of this universe.
Think beyond the box.

Heaven and Hell don’t have latitude, longitude or altitude. Nor do they have length, width or height. They are outside of the physical.

Great question. Heaven and Hell are probably not contained with the Univerese and are more of states. Heaven is perfect communion with God where you will live with him in a certain place. Your body shall be glorified and you will be perfected. Hell will be seperation from God and will include suffering and a lack of love in a certain place. However, some speculate that these two places may be in the same place. But I believe (but am not positive) that the Bible never specifically says where Heaven is, and that the idea that the good is in the sky comes from the idea that you are good and healthy when you are “up and running” and that when you “feel down” you are doing bad. While Heaven and Hell may be contained in our Universe, at this point it is very probable that this is an extradimensional place, or even a place out of space and time itself. It really is amazing when you think about it. But good luck and God bless.

That’s what I thought, (think?), too, but then how could Jesus and Mary’s glorified bodies be in Heaven, or ours eventually getting there? How could our bodies (in whatever form they might eventually become) end up in Purgatory or Hell?

CASTEL GANDOLFO, Italy (CNS) – Heaven is not an abstract idea or an imaginary place, but heaven is God, Pope Benedict XVI said.
Celebrating an early morning Mass Aug. 15, the pope said the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary “urges us to raise our gaze toward heaven, not a heaven of abstract ideas nor an imaginary heaven created in art, but the true reality of heaven which is God himself. God is heaven.”

That is truly remarkable. Beautiful. And very true. Inspirational. I think today will be a good day! Thanks for sharing.

We haven’t BEEN all over the place. In terms of the Universe, we may have BEEN to about 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of places (less, actually).

In terms of what we have SEEN of the universe, especially with ANY degree of clarity? 1%… maybe, if even that much.

But I agree with the others, heaven and hell are not part of THIS physical universe (and there’s nothing to say that there is not some state of physical existence OUTSIDE of this universe either)

Elija too, and maybe one or two others.

??? No one “ends up on Purgatory”. I’m thinking you may have really not studied The Faith. What do you thing purgatory is?

As to heaven and hell, it’s pretty clear from the bible what happens at the end of time. It’s pretty clear that you haven’t really put any scholarship into trying to find the answers. Have you read your bible? Or the Catechism?

All of these questions are answered in the Bible and the Catechism. Just look up “last things” in the Catechism.

You tell me where Heaven and Hell are suppose to be. When you live you then die, into the cosmos you go. Through space time continuum you will travel not knowing where your going maybe to Hell, maybe to Heaven, probably Purgatory. There you now are you knowing where they are, even though you can’t see where Heaven and Hell are going to be?
;)😃

I never claimed to be some kind of expert on any of this…,…🤷 I’m here to learn. Sorry if you don’t like that.

Sorry brother, I didn’t mean to offend. Let’s start over. Help me to see where we are starting from by answering a couple of questions.

Where did you get your faith formation and how long ago? Have you ever read the Bible and The Catechism? Do you regularly receive the Sacraments?

If God says there is a heaven and there is a hell then they are real places

Hell could really be within the physical moltan core of the earth. It sure does fit the description. I think that is it is there and the reason why there are still active volcanoes is because there still is a growing need for hell. At the White Throne judgement the souls in hell are called forth, and i just can see some big volcanoe spueing them out in a burst of lava

As for heaven, there are three heavens. First, the Heaven you can see, second, that which is what we call space-the universe- then the highest heaven, beyond that where the Throne of God is.
