I have not seen or watched any of the episodes in this series. However, that does not mean that I did not add my name to the list for Netflix to stop showing this series.

Aimed at is 5000 signatures - It would be nice if that number is exceeded.

Netflix declares open season on Catholicism
with new blasphemous series
The Netflix series “F is for Family” is a disgusting ‘comedy’ which uses Jesus, Mary and many Catholic devotions as props in their sick scenarios.
Netflix has gone too far with this one.
Sex, profanity, drugs and blasphemy are the major themes of this animated program in a poor attempt to portray average 1970’s family life.
Blasphemy is not entertainment.

I’m sure Netflix is working on a similar program mocking a Muslim family. Oh, wait . . . . . . . .

Signed, hopefully we’ll see all CAF members sign, that will take the number way above the 5000!!!

I signed it. I have never seen this on NETFLIX. I usually don’t watch comedies though.
I am surprised Bill Donahue has not been out there protesting this show!

Homosexual Child Molesting Priests didn’t counsel married couples in the 70’s?

The rest I’ll grant you could definitely qualify as blasphemous… Though I’d honestly never heard of this show til you mentioned it.

I’m sure Netflix is working on a similar program mocking a Muslim family. Oh, wait . . . . . . . .
Exactly. And simply asking if someone is willing to subject Islam to the same ridicule they give Christianity is enough to open you up to criticism (if not outright hatred).

Homosexual Child Molesting Priests didn’t counsel married couples in the 70’s?

.
And is it funny??? How many other Christian pastors have done similar things and not been held accountable? Nope, it is still a tiny minority of the priests who committed these
heinous crimes, but you’d think it was a 100%. That is wrong.

I just choose not to watch it because I’m not a fan of Bill Burr.

You want positive portrayal of Catholicism on Netflix? Try Daredevil.

So we should reject freedom of speech?
“Freedom of speech” simply means that the government won’t suppress you or lock you up for saying something it doesn’t like.

If you are a private company and you air speech that your customers or potential customers don’t like, then be prepared for all these people who don’t like it to send you letters demanding that you stop or lose their business. You still have freedom of speech as the government won’t lock you up. You might lose a lot of money however. And if you are a corporate entity, your board and your shareholders tend to be rather upset if you bring a lot of bad PR down on the company and maybe make the stock fall.

I read the first hundred or so reviews - I can’t read anymore …

And for the record - I am not a cartoon watcher - not as a child nor as an adult [probably too old to have had TV cartoons that big a part of my growing up … Road Runner and Coyote are about it for me …

Never watched South Park and my life is good … don’t intend to watch this show either - not even to check it out …

These are my observations - most of which are comprised of high praise [four and five stars] and even those that panned it with one star and hated it did not mention any anti-Catholic aspects … one review mentioned cursing directed at a Bible Salesman … I did see comments related to show content - vulgarity, sexism, racism, misogyny, drugs, stereotyping of characters - husband dumb, bully uncouth, stupid - wife smart, never wrong, I am woman here me roar, kids out of control … etc - and that by some of those gave the show high marks … not a single reference was made to religion in general - Catholicism on particular …

So - while you can and perhaps should sign and send the protest to NetFlix - I think writing 5000 poor reviews would probably make a bigger impression - or at least the Petition and the bad reviews together might …

just my thoughts …

So we should reject freedom of speech?
So we should reject freedom to protest?

Asking a company to apologize for its actions, and to refrain from committing similar ones in the future, isn’t “rejecting” their freedom. It’s saying, “We would prefer if you don’t use your freedom to ridicule a group of people, especially when we know of another group you wouldn’t dare criticize”. Asking (or demanding) the government shut the show down would be rejecting freedom of speech.
