Hi Stillsosola! In a way St. Sara (sometimes with a “h” at the end) is a well known name but her life story relies on tradition. I have included a link down below and I must admit that apart from her name I did not know much about her life. She is apparently a patron saint of gypsies…so you might look to a life of travelling around the world!!😃

Well you certainly have chosen an unknown saint as a confirmation patron.(which is great as he will have less people to intercede to Christ in their needs, as adult catholic witnesses of The Gospel.) I worked as an Expeditor for two years in a purchasing office years ago—I could have called for his assistance if I had known about him when I got verbally abused when items never showed up in time!.

(Blessed) Zbigniew Strzalkowski and( Blessed) Michal Tomaszek.

These two Conventual Franciscan Friars will be beatified by Pope Francis(via his representative) in Peru on the 5th.of December 2015 .They will be beatified along with (Blessed) Fr.Alessandro Dordi a diocesan priest martyred in Peru around the same time.

Friars Michael & Zbigniew were taken from their church after an evening Eucharist celebration by members of a Maoist inspired group called Shining Path. This took place on August the 9,1991.

They were declared Martyrs by Pope Francis on February 3rd.of this year. The two Friars were missionaries in the footsteps of one of my favourite saints St.Maximilian Kolbe.They were born in Poland.

I am not certain why you never included the above link ,which after reading her life I am happy to do. Yes ,certainly your devotion to Sister Elizabeth Romanova is well merited in my view and I also that anyone reading her life story could only be inspired. This martyr during the communist anti-Christ era has been added by the Russian Orthodox Church to it’s official saints. She is entitled to be honoured and venerated within this Church.

However, even Catholics can have a private devotion to Sister Elizabeth Romanova if they wish. All it means is that since she has not been Canonized within the catholic tradition, as such Catholics, like myself cannot publically venerate her and she is not included within the Liturgical Calendar Cycle.

I guess that we all have to pray even harder for the Unity of The Church; as Christ prayed that may they all may be one----one flock and one shepherd.

Thank you for your posting and please God, may Sister Elizabeth Romanova—through her intercession with Christ ( who life mirrors that of St. Elizabeth of Hungry in many respects I think) be one day celebrated as a canonized saint within the Catholic Church.

She was born a slave, freed after the Civil War, came to Colorado, worked as a servant, and had a strong devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, on the Feast Day of which she passed away. Of course there’s more, but y’all will have to google it yourself 😛

THE JULIA GREELEY PRAYER

Dear Julia Greeley, friend of the homeless, pray for us to Jesus, who suffered so much and for our sake had nowhere to lay His head. Julia, devoted servant of the Sacred Heart, implore the powerful intercession of our Blessed Mother and ask her help in all our needs, especially the needs of those who have no one to pray for them. Julia, gentle champion of the lonely and powerless, we beg you to ask for the protection and guidance of dear St. Joseph, guardian of the Holy Family.

Please pray, dear Julia, for our urgent request, that the Eternal God, defender of the weak, will grant us the blessing of a shelter for all single homeless women in the Denver area, that they may find a suitable refuge in keeping with their human and moral dignity. I also ask your special intercession to obtain (mention your intention) a complete cure from cancer for Father Regis Scanlon.
