Temperature question(NFP)help

Hi all
I honestly can’t figure this NFP stuff out. I usually have my ovulation (as far as I know) on the 14-15 day. But this time suddently my temp made a jump on day tenth (yesterday) to 98,4the mucus looked quite fertile and my breast are sore. However, already today the temp has fallen to 97,8. Does the fall in temperature means that it was not an ovulation after all?
I hope someone can help me :confused:

you seem a bit confused on this. so i wonder, are you fairly familiar with NFP and experienced with using it? i read the post to get that you were. if so id say it is more likely that you didnt and may have had anything from a light fever to a couple days of poor nutrition(assuming it was good before hand). that being said im not a doctor so take it with a grain of salt. especially since my wife and i dont do NFP. we did the classes and stuff before marriage, but then just decided that for now we’d do nothing. and i have to say that not trying to control it at all is a good thing for my stress. i love it whenever i can hand off anything to Him.

Honestly I am not very well into these matters. We don’t have any classes in the country where I live and it is not easy to try to understand such issues in different languages and on my own. But so far at least it was my impression that the fertile mucus and the elevated temp came at the same time. However these last months I have been less able to make sense of my signs. I am not using it to avoid pregnancy - it is rather the opposite. So I would hate to miss the chance. I know my temperatures and this was no fever. Neither has there been a change in my nutrition … except that I am trying to drink more water these days.

My problem is that I don’t have anyone to help me with these things:o

well not to be crass but if you are using it to avoid children you could just go with the shotgun approach. try your best with the nfp but throwup a wad of buckshot too. more times does mean more chances for success.
 
With NFP, if there is fertile mucus and a spike in temp, treat it as a fertile time. Your body can change with stress, nutrition, infection…

For example: With my last period I had a yeast infection. Infection can bring on fertile mucus as well as the antibiotic. I was treating the yeast infection and got a fertile show during my period as well as two days after. I figured it was all because of the yeast infection so I chose to ignore the two days after bleeding had stopped and I got pregnant. As it turned out it was fertile after all.

Chart what you observe. Don’t second guess. If you are trying to get pregnant, take advantage of the freedom but especially use the days when there is very clear and stretchy mucus.
 
Since I’ve been trying to get pregnant for 15 months I really care to KNOW when is the right time.
Anyhow, I took an ovulation test. It came out negative. If the next ones are also, I guess I had my ovulation already.

Sometimes it takes some time using NFP to get to know your body. I have health issues and had a hard time achieving pregnancy with the first three babies. With two of our children it took three years to get pregnant. It is so hard to just relax and let nature take it’s course when you really want a baby. After charting for a long time, I noticed some things about my cycle. When i ovulate, I have fertile mucus for more than one day, I have a spike in temp., and I desire to be with my husband more than ever. With one of our children we tried so hard to get pregnant that finally we just quit charting and just enjoyed being with each other for a month and that is when we got pregnant.

Thank you for sharing. 3 years is certainly a long, long time to wait. I also know other couples who had to wait for two years but I just can’t seem to stop obsessing. I am just so afraid that it will never work out. The only time I was pregnant was 1,5 years ago and it was ectopic and ruined my one fallopan tupe. :confused:

:heaven: But my husband and I have decided to go to Lourdes in October. Maybe God will bless us in that special place…
