When we repent of our sins, we’re forgiven by God. This i have experienced in my life. Like a snap of a finger, it’s instant forgiveness like the Prodigal Son parable.
Is there really punishment? Why do people suffer? I have suffered in a lot of different ways in my life, but how do we know that we are continuing to suffer for our own sins that we’ve committed?
We don’t.
Maybe there is a period of suffering for our own sins, but how do we know that we continue to suffer for those sins? Maybe it’s the sins of others that we continue to suffer for as the “body of Christ”?
We may be instantly brought back “into the fold” by repentance, but then maybe we suffer for those who aren’t yet…
This would help to explain suffering as a Christian…
