My wife and I are having extreme difficulty with NFP. She is tempted to use the morning after pill, even though we know it is wrong. We have rejected all other forms of contraception, but this is still a thought that comes into her mind after we take a risk. She knows it is a form of temptation and she tells me she would never do it, but even the thought of it chills my soul.

Please pray that we would be open to a new life, that we would get out of debt, that new life would bring joy into our lives, not pain and privation, that we would be open to God’s will, and for the emotional health of my wife.

The morning after pill does not prevent pregnancy, it aborts it. The majority of pregnancies are started prior to entering into the uterus, in the fallopian tube. Emergency contraceptives generally causes the uterus to reject the infant prior to implantation.
Tell her it’s truly abortifacient. She could be killing her own child. If she doesn’t want the child, many would be more than happy to adopt the child.

Lord Jesus please protect this couple from any harmful influence, and help them to get their finances under control;
and grant them peace of mind and soul in all their decisions and choices, made according to the commandments of Love.
Lord Jesus let Your loving will be fulfilled in their lives.

We know that. The fact that she is even thinking about it shows the depths of her anxiety and state of mind. NFP is driving her crazy.

Is there a priest she can talk to that can counsel her through her anxiety? 😦

What is the “extreme difficulty” if you don’t mind me asking? NFP is incredibly effective and blessed by the Church for people in a situation like it sounds like you are in. No form of “birth control” is 100%, not even the morning after pill.

I will pray for you and your wife, that God would take away any anxiety and that you would both feel the comfort of his hand.

Lord, I pray for all of the above intentions. Grant this couple a good life with children and free from debt. May their children bring pure joy to their lives and help them grow into saints. May this couple always seek to do your will and keep open to life. Help utunumsint’s wife and grant her healing from all that is causing her emotional stress. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.
