Not sure about where Kouyate42 lives, but I do live in the Middle East and, yes, almost all the Muslim women I know choose to cover. In fact the only two I can think of now were “different” cases. One is a lady from a western nation who converted after marrying a Muslim, she still chose to cover her husband had no opinions either way, and she regretted having started doing it. The other lady had grown up Muslim in western countries and when she went out in public with her husband she covered because she knew he preferred it.

I live in the UK, in Newcastle upon Tyne to be exact.
Might be hard to believe, but the full-face chador and the niqab in any form is definitely a choice for the grand majority of Muslim women.

Muslim men need Jesus Christ. Moslem women need Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ showed men how to treat women, and women how to threat themselves. And in dying on the cross in the place of the sinner, Jesus showed us that we have full dignity.
ONLY through the Cross are we reconciled with the Father.
Muslims believe their pious works and prayers can save them. But they do not accept the Blood sacrifice which was always necessary for atonement. They believe Jesus didn’t die on the cross… as such they have not had their sins washed away through faith in Him.
Mary is not able to save nor forgive sins. Moslem men needs this forgiveness and purity that comes from the Holy Spirits tranformation of their eyes and minds.
Jesus Christ is our Advocate, the one who stands between us and the Father and the only one who can clothe us in innocense and wach us pure. He is the WAY.
I say this here because there is a scandal that happend early on, where Moslems met false Christians who gave the glory to creatures… for this reason the first Moslems believed that Mary was part of the Trinity, and they were scandalised…
Just something to ponder.

He told me he converted because he fell in love with a young lady from Marocco and he thought she would marry him. Besides that he felt in need of a strong identity and to find spiritually a home after having destroyed himself in the secular drunkness and promiscuity very long.
However, he was very honest with me that he knew almost nothing about Christianity. Once he even said to me I knew more about Islam than he did.
After quite a few conversations about religious matters, although they always went on peacefully, he told me he wished not to speak of religion anymore. he had now married and his wife felt it unsettling when I brought up the topic.
I know it sounds strange that he was so open about things… but he was… that is, until that point. I respected his request not to discuss these matters anymore.
I hope one day he will really really read and seek to understand the Quran and Hadith so that he sees that Mohammad was not a good person at all, and not trustworthy.
I hope he will have the courage to read the New Testament on his own and compare the two…

I do not say they do not love their mothers. But I say the women are kept infantile, and are seen as less. Often the young men were taking big decisions for the family without even asking their mothers, as I experienced it.
I know severel families with dynamics between Moslem men and women which would be very odd and unfair to democratic Christian eyes. I also read numerous books that tells that this is widespread.
Also studies have come out made by Arabs about women’s status in the Middle East. In severel countries so-called honour killings are allowed, women have little rights in cases of divorce or abuse etc… the men “own the children” etc.
Although I love some things about Arabic culture, music, dance and language - and although Western culture has a great many problems with the rise of value-relativism etc - I certainly would not want to live in a country with Sharia law in any form.
In many countries and environments women are directly or indirectly coerced into wearing clothes and conducting themselves in ways which the young men are not. Such coersion can be very subtle too…
I will not get into the lack of religious freedom under Sharia. If a man leaves Islam and becomes Christian, the Muslim has a right to kill him according to sharia. This is a fact.
Muslims will often say that Islam is a religion of peace and freedom… but its an Islamic concept of peace and freedom in the criteria of Islam… where no criticism of the prophet Muhammed or Islam is tolerated .

Sharia law- if a woman is raped she needs 4 MALE witnesses to corroberate the charge- if not she is guilty of adultery and is to be stoned to death. Sounds like a great system for men to do as they please.
Koran also always has incidents where Mohammed is questioned about his behavior- then he goes to the “cave” to recieve revelation that allows him to continue that behavior-i.e. more than 4 wives-only the great one was allowed to do it- I find it interesting.

I should not be a free country for Muslims.
Muslims should be given the same freedom as Saudi Arabia gives to Christians.
Muslims are taking advantage of the freedom that democratic countries give to them.
But there is a limit to tolerance: which is intolerance.
If I convert a Muslim to Christianity in Saudi Arabia I will have my head chopped off.
