I noted that “politics” is supposed to be discussed on another forum but I did not find the forum and also I really don’t have an article to link to…

That said…

Two Questions on the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

Just what are the stated strategic purpose/goals of the terrorists?

After ??? years of suicide attacks, bombings etc. have any of their strategic goals been achieved?

Peace

I think the strategy is to take down western civilization. And I don’t think they have acheived their goal or else they probably wouldn’t be attacking many western countries.

Ultimately they indeed will conquer. Why? They for the most part do not abort their children… Ergo they will win by default.

Islamic terrorism doesnt have much chance of succeeding in the West. Not yet, at least. But we do well to remember that muslims are replacing themselves in numbers that far out-strip westerners (in the UK it’s 3 times the rate of the rest of us!). So, in the long run - say 100 plus years from now - if the level of reproduction remains the same, then Islam will become an increasingly major force in western politics. And, unless the Arab Spring is really successful, I do get the impression that a large Islamic population is quite suseptable to being dominated by facistic elements.

Let us not confuse “Muslims” with “Terrorists”.
Birth rates are not terrorist activities. Therefore Birthrates would be a subject for a different thread.

I am more interested in reviewing the long time that such terror tactics have been in use (going back 20-30-40 years). First to punish Israel, then to try to get the West to stop supporting Israel etc…
It just seems that the goals that the various terrorist groups have set out, and have been willing to use terror bombings etc to attempt to achieve, have not been achieved in real substantive way.

To me the real problem (or potential problem) is that the terror tactic will simply become an “acting out of hate” without any real substantive goal. It actually may already be becoming just that.
