I wear mine just about every day- SO comfy!! They’re not fancy cowboy boots- more like rancher/work cowboy boots.

Not a college girl by ANY stretch of the imagination, however!! 😛
Around here the fur-lined boots and Greenland parkas come out at 65 degrees, I kid you not:)

Speaking of scorpions, we do have them in this minor city. A friend found 2 in his kitchen.

I however, haven’t seen one since 1984.

Most houses have crevices that bugs and rodents can use (between the deck and wall framing, etc).

Do you have centipedes there too? They creeped me out when I lived in Hawaii.

Another important Texas fact: you need to like Mexican food, because probably half of your dining options are going to be Tex Mex.

Just in fast food alone, we have more taco places than I have ever seen in my life.

Houston may have more ethnic variety, but I’m pretty sure that the 50% figure is pretty close to true for the entire state.

One really cool thing about the Mexican food is that you often have a chance to see tortilla machines in action. That is really fun to watch!

The “tortilla chip” was invented in San Antonio in 1941! :)🙂

On Tuesdays at the tortilla factory in Albuquerque when I was growing up you could buy 12 dozen corn tortillas FRESH for $1.
Daddy would drive us out there with a package of sliced cheese and we’d polish off a few dozen on the ride home, and then enchiladas for dinner!
Stacked, of course. 😃

That’s another Texas feature–places with “tortilla factory” in the name.

What I remember about Texas is the really good food from all ethnic groups and at reasonable prices.

I’d probably weigh 300 pounds if I lived there.
