“Timing method?” You mean withdrawl, aka Onanism? That’s contraception.

Or do you mean timing the infertile time, aka NFP. Not contraception.

I have to wonder why the breastfeeding mom feels that abstinance is the only option for spacing out kids right now. Mucus based NFP works just fine during BF to watch for impending return of ovulation. Has for us anyways… 👍

I’ll say this for the pastor. When a couple decides to go for it beyond just their own individual urgings like he essentially proposes, it can be easier to grow as a couple in mutually giving sex instead of the mutually taking sex that pervades our culture.

You have to consider that Protestants don’t follow the same rules…

What Catholics find taboo or sinful is not always in protestant churches.
Yes they use birth control personally I think some people here would damn them just for that.
I grew up in Pentecostal Churches where birth control is allowed and even porn if it was used in the Marital Way. and the scary thing is with all this no one at my church ever became a murder or a pedophile or anything…
I accept the RCC and its teaching but don’t get to High on your horse.

Not every denomination follows the same rules, and some people just don’t want to stick thermometers in bad places.

ps. for those doing NFP please tell me you hide the Thermometer when your done or at least disinfect it…

This is an interesting remark - the vagina is not a BAD place :confused: I’m surprised at someone brought up in a church that teaches porn is fine in a relationship suggesting an amount of liberalism, would think a woman’s vagina is a bad place. :confused:

Ag_not I’m not trying to be a jerk but some people aren’t comfortable putting that in them.

and some people’s idea of what is openness to a child differs from ours. Someone in my family went to Engaged Encounter and told them that if she got Preg. on Birth Control that she would have it. lol if it happens with that much protection God really want that kid born.

and i used bad place because vagina isn’t the first word i could think of… Sorry for the misunderstanding…

But it dosnt violate her believes and thanks to Ignorance she dosnt get slapped on the wrist for using it… to tired to post link

Not to mention the thermometer that is used to track the temps for NFP does not even go in the vagina in the first place. 😃 It goes in your mouth like most regular thermometers. I guess the op thinks the mouth is a bad place?

It says rectally not vaginally. You did appear to lead us to believe that is what you meant. Most people are not going to use a thermometer rectally for, well obvious reasons. 😃 In fact, most people I know do not even use a rectal thermometer in their babies.

Apologies ErrorCMDR - I misread you and thought you were saying something you weren’t. I had several threads going at the same time.

Taking the body temperature rectally gives you the most accurate reading of the body temperature. I cant understand peoples hesitancy around this area. It’s a wonderful part of the body.
It’s small, reviled, ignored and mistreated - but did you ever notice how it can make you suffer like hell if it ever plays up 😃 😃 😃

More respect for bottoms - that’s what I say 😃 😃 😃

Not sure if I am more amused or disgusted by this thread.

It does remind me of a Monty Python movie where the protestant man and wife are talking about their Catholic neighbors having so many kids and the man says that they can use birth control and not have a kid every time they have sex and the woman says “Well we’ve done it twice and we have two kids”

I really do think that the protestant/puritanical view of sex as dirty even in marriage is one of the leading causes for porn and/or sexual abuse.

A friend once told me that to a catholic getting married means getting lucky all the time and to a protestant it is a way to give up sex as you slowly wean yourself off of it. The friend was catholic.
 
Well I think it depends on how many kids you want.

I saw a thread about porn but they didn’t have the option for “My wife knows and we use it for marital reasons”
apparently the person who made the poll didn’t realize not everyone uses porn for the same reasons.

PS. What I do in my marital bed is between Me, My wife and God.

I RIDE a motorcycle. It’s my only form of transport. I’ve been riding bikes since I was a kid. I race guys on the track and compete in enduros. I service and maintain my bikes. I can strip clean and replace the carbs on my bike quicker than you can say OUCH!!!

I cant tell you the amount of guys that see me in my leathers standing by the fireblade and ask me where my guy is :banghead:
