Christ said somethings that both scare me and puzzle me. In The Gospel of John, with the woman at the well, Christ blatantly says that when we worship God monotheistic, we have no clue what we are doing, and more over, that the day will come when no one worships him this way. He says we will worship him in spirit and truth, and it is in such a way that he wishes to be worshiped. The symbolic mysteries are still undefined in the words ‘spirit’ and ‘truth’, as Christ himself explains, later in The Gospel of John, that he has much more to tell us, but we couldn’t bare it now.

we couldn’t bare it now!

Spooky!

Christ also makes a mysterious claim that he is glad is father kept things in the mouth of babes, but kept from wise and prudent men. He also says that blessed are the breasts which never gave suck. I believe this is not an issue of virginity, but more of instinctive and intuitive knowledge and behaviors of early childhood which is forgotten in the course of growing older. Maybe during the times of tribulation we all once again remember these forgotten instincts and intuitions, and it becomes the primal cause of suffering. The book of Job seems to hint at this when Job describes God’s motives behind Satan, “He brakes open a shaft far away, in places forgotten by feet of men, they swing to and fro.”

After all Satan, that other main character of the new testament, first appeared in The Book of Job, therefore we might want to pay extra close attention to it.

We all know that in the end times that Satan is thrown to earth, I think all humanity will go through what Job did, hence the 42 chapters of Job and the 42 months of tribulation. The good news is that Satan says ‘after the seven sorrows, no evil can touch us’.

Jesus is speaking to a woman before His death, resurrection, and ascension, and hence before His Church really gets rolling. Jesus is Truth (as well as the Way and Life). After His ascension into Heaven, He sends the Spirit to the Church. Every time two or more are gathered, He – the Truth – has promised to be there with them and in them. (Also, the Spirit prays with and for us with groans, since we can’t do it really properly ourselves.)

Thus, the Church, after Pentecost, worships God in Spirit and Truth.

So it is a great mystery and spooky, but I bet you’ve done it!

Praise God the Trinity for being so good to us!

"The Samaritans are in the dark about many of God’s plans because they do not accept any revelation not found in the first five books of Sacred Scripture, that is, in the Law of Moses; the Jews, on the other hand, are much nearer the truth because they accept the whole of the Old Testament. But both Samaritans and Jews need to open themselves to the new revelation of Jesus Christ. With the coming of the Messiah, whom both peoples are awaiting, and who is the true dwelling-place of God among men (cf. Jn 2:19), the new, definitive Alliance has begun; and neither Gerizim nor Jerusalem count any more; what the Father wishes is for all to accept the Messiah, his Son, the new temple of God, by offering him a form of worship which comes right from the heart (cf. Jn 12:1; 2 Tm 2:22) and which the Spirit of God himself stirs people to render (cf. Rm 8:15).”
