…also, don’t forget to do your penance after confession. It is best to do it immediately after confession before Our Lord in the Church while you are full of gratitude and emotion.
This is something my mother ingrained in me as a child and I really feel I’ve done a good confession.
Let everyday bring you closer to God and remember to raise up the Mass for your intentions. Pray to the Holy Spirit to give you strenth.
Your sister in Christ,
Sorrows
You are right. I should have said them while in Church, but I was so moved about going to confession, I forgot to. Then riding home, I was thinking. I wasnt truly absolved yet, because I didnt say the prayers. I took it slow on the way home.
Last nite, while in my bedrooom, my dog and cat laying on the bed, I got on my knees (which I havent done since I was a child) and prayed.
You see, I became a very hardened person over the years. I found it hard to submit to something I could not see, so I never prayed. I believed that praying and relying on God was a sign of weekness.
Then for the first time, I saw him. He was in my heart all these years and I never knew it. I know I am a mess. This is so different from what I am used to.
When I went to confession yesterday, I got there 45 minutes early. I sat in the very back, because I felt I wasnt worth to sit any closer. After confession, as I was leaving, I noticed I forgot to use the holy water at the door as I entered. I felt bad.
Anyways, Gonna go iron my shirt and get my goood jeans out.
