I’m 29yrs. old and I meet my wife on Catholicmatch.com a dating/social website for Catholics looking for love, friendship or spiritual connection around the States and beyond.

I have always felt even in my late teens that religion was one of the most important subjects when it came to entertaining thoughts of marriage. It directs the way your children would be raised the lifestyle in the home etc etc…

I was soo excited to know that a website like Catholic Match was out there! So after prayer, building a profile, meeting some really great women around my area, and then more prayer God granted me a special someone to enter my life!!

I would recommend the site to all my Catholic brothers and sisters.

What sort of opinions are there about dating in the faith vs. outside the faith. Do people care anymore about upholding the traditions or is courtship and marriage love that belongs to fate?

Congratulations!!! I met my wonderful husband through Catholic Match. I am not the type to do online dating but the Holy Spirit encouraged me.
I love how they ask you seven questions about your faith beliefs. That helps differentiate the devout Catholics from the " cafeteria" Catholics.
I find it absolutely essential to marry a like minded person, especially in matters of faith and morals. It makes all the difference in the world.

I’m still on Catholic Match, but seeking friendships only, as I am pursuing a religious vocation.

Is that a thing? Going on Catholic Match, but not seeking a romantic relationship?

Depends on what you mean by a thing. I don’t think it’s common, but people do it. I imagine it’s more common in areas where there are fewer Catholics, and where there are no young adult ministries.

I’m glad it works for someone too. So far I have made only one friend and it doesn’t seem like there is much actual dating going on. Very disappointing 😦 but glad to hear that you had a good experience. Congrats. 👍

Congratulations. Internet dating always seemed like a risky proposition to me. Glad to hear that it worked for you. 👍
