Has any body else just felt the need to publicly say THANK YOU G-D!. Well I have - with all that is going on in the world, with all that is going on in just in my immediate surroundings. I realize that I have a lot to be thankful for and a need to publicly say -

Thank you G-d for being there for me, Thank You for keeping my family safe during the car accident, Thank You for my family, friends, loved ones and for keeping them safe and from harms way. You have blessed me and mine and continue to do so- Please help me to be worthy of you and an instrument of you. PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL

I know the feeling, however the reason I am posting is because I am wondering why you replace the “o” with a “-” in “God”? I have seen other people do this and I have not yet learned why.

Bless you for your thankfulness to God.
It’s a good thing for us all to be reminded to cultivate conscious gratitude for our gifts, the people we love and value, whatever is good and blessed in others’ lives and our own.

Please keep in mind this answer applies to me and not everyone - I picked up this, habit for lack of a better word when I studied Judaism a number of years ago. It is done out of respect/reverence to G-d.

Here is a link with a more tradionall judaish explination:

Hope this helps
