Even though I have COPD, and only 20% of lung capacity left, and a great loss of weight for a 6’ frame; a year ago was 160 lbs.,but now only 118! I know my time is drawing near to meet Jesus in person, but am so glad that I’m still here in His World called Earth! Doctors gave me 1 year to live if I didn’t quit smoking! (and that was 4 yrs. ago!) And yes, I still smoke and have no desire to quit. If I live to June 13th, I will be 71 yrs young! I believe that saying rosarys for souls in Purgatory is both a Penance and charity, and have said 1000’s over these past few years and will continue to do so.
God Bless to ya all !!
My mother had a stroke in 2003 had smoked all her life. She has COPD,her breathing is very poor indeed,on many medications, unable to live alone so has lived with hubby & I for nearly 3yrs.
She is 71 at the end of February and has now stopped smoking for a couple of months. It can be very challenging at times watching soemone you love continue to smoke when you can see it is making them so ill, but because we all love our mother we nagged her to stop smoking.I don’t know how much longer our mother has left for this world either but we love her and want her with us for as long as possible.
I will keep you in my prayers I just wanted to share with you the difficulties we have had as a family.May God bless you
Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen
