Dear Friends,
Our bathroom renovations have been going on for several days. It is noisy, dusty bedlam. We have another room at the back of the house which has a shower, toilet and wash basin. This was built by the previous owners of the house so that people could shower after coming out of the swimming pool in the backyard.

We have been using this while our bathroom is being demolished and rebuilt. On Saturday night at 11.30 pm when we were all in bed, we heard a noise that sounded like falling bricks. Our daughter Brenda rushed in and said that there had been an explosion in the house. It was not really an explosion. The water mains (both hot and cold lines had broken) and huge amounts of water were sprouting to the ceiling in the the “pool” shower room.

Anne Maree (our 21 year old daughter who is very autistic) was missing from her room. We found her drenched, hiding behind the shower room door. She apparently sat in the heavy ceramic wash basin and it collapsed falling to the tiled floor and rupturing the water mains supply to the house. There were sharp pieces of ceramic everywhere.

It is a wonder that Anne Maree was not seriously injured or even killed. We have very exhausted, overworked guardian angels in this house.

Greetings and prayers for all your intentions,
Mary Ann
