Thanks be to God! Scary situation ended

A couple weeks ago I posted a prayer request because a fugitive was on the loose in our area (he was wanted in other states and had shot a local police officer who is still in very critical condition). I have to say that your prayers for our safety and peace of mind helped immensely (although I admit to having been a nervous nellie from here to breakfast for the last two weeks.)

Just today the man was spotted about 40 miles away (near an area that is a popular camping site). He opened fire on a sheriff’s deputy who returned fire and killed the man.

I ask you now to pray for this man’s soul and also for the officer he wounded, their families, our law enforcement officials who wisely kept searching for him in the area and didn’t just assume he fled to Mexico (which is about 100 miles away).

Thank you all and thank you, Lord and Blessed Mother!

No, the officer he shot is still alive, but still very critical. He has been moved to a rehabilitation center, so he and his family are in for a long haul.

Thanks for your prayers.

May his soul with all souls through God’s Tender Mercy ever rest in His Peace. Praying too for the critically injured officer - may The Lord restore him to health - and for the sheriff’s deputy who killed the man…I hear it is tremendously traumatic for a police officer to kill a person, even if that person had fired first etc. and was guilty of some terrible crime. May The Lord grant this deputy Peace and freedom from stress and trauma…
Giving thanks that you are all relieved of the dreadful stress of knowing someone dangerous was at large in your neighbourhood and area…

Lord, we thank you for bringing an end to this worrisome situation. In your tender love and mercy, may you continue to watch over the officer who was shot throughout his rehabilitation.

Bring peace to the officer who was forced to fire upon this man, Lord, and all those involved in this matter.

Lord, we pray for the repose of this man’s soul. In your mercy, may he rest in peace in your heavenly kingdom.
