I have had another one of my very long standing prayer petitions answered today. My confessor/director of 15years died now some 30 years ago and I have always desired since (and prayed for) to find another priest to both be my confessor and director.
Long story short. The other day I found out that a retired priest who knows me exceptionally well will take people under his direction but would have to limit the number due to time commitments. I have just more or less hung up from him on the phone, and he will “take me on”
He is not only a very holy and learned man and priest…but with a delightful sense of humour! When I phoned he could not find his diary. I said to him “You go look, Father, and I’ll be talking to St. Anthony”
“Is that your spirituality is it, talking to St. Anthony”
“Gee Father, remember me - I’ll talk to anyone who’ll listen up there”
He laughed.
Father not only knows me well, he lives in retirement in the next suburb to me. I will no longer have a two hour trip to, and then back, to see my religious sister director. But I will be sad to leave her. I see her tomorrow.
It is especially wonderful to me (and please help me give much thanks) that today is the Feast of the Queenship of Mary. I am very happy, humbled and grateful. I have prayed for this for 30 years. God is Good even to his least.
