I think you are confusing the need for the grace which the Sacrament imparts with the Sacrament itself. All that is necessary for heaven is to die in the grace of God. Again, the normal means that God has given for this is the ministry of the Church, but we can not limit God to how he will dispense his grace and mercy.

The blessed virgin is our mother, God is our Father. Any body who does not honor Mother and Father does not keep the commandments and therefore does not know Christ.

Here is the promises realized. The rosary for some people help them to keep the commandments.

Yeah okay. But you may want to check out the Council of Trent 1551. You may find out something different on what you think the Church does and does not teach

Okay so I am going through RCIA and have yet to receive my First Communion nor have I done my First Confession. But I pray every night a list of prayers I have to bring me closer to Christ. Are you trying to say that I am wasting my time to pray because God will not hear me because I am in a state of Mortal Sin? Didn’t Christ come to heal the sinners, not glorify the saints? Well, I’m going to pray anyway, and trust in God to listen to me, or not as He sees fit.

Get a Brown Scapular, get enrolled in it, wear it (Our Most Loving and Merciful Mother promised St. Simon Stock that whosoever dies wearing the Brown Scapular will avoid Hellfire…please note that the Brown Scapular is not a good luck charm, but a promise by Our Mother to do everything possible to bring us into Heaven). Get a Green Scapular, get it blessed, wear it and (at least 1x per day), pray the following: “Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us now and at the hour of our death” (attached to the Green Scapular is Mother Mary’s promise that whoever wears it and prays that short prayer daily will not die without access to the Sacraments).

Also, remember that we can always ask the Saints, especially Our Blessed Mother, for assistance and prayers. As rinnie pointed out, they are in a state of grace (and perfection) since they are in Heaven. They love us as brothers and sisters and (for Mother Mary) children.

Also, I think you can go to Confession before your official ‘First Confession’ as long as you are already Baptized validly. I was going to Confession long before I was Confirmed and received First Confession (I am a recent convert). Of course, it messed my Scrupulous faith up because I worried when I realized I needed to make a full Confession since Baptism and realize my Pre-First Confession Confession had not been complete, but that is another story.

But not us right Monica. We know the love and graces that the Blessed Mother can acquire for us through her dear son Jesus Christ. And we sure take advantage of them.

Dear Blessed Mother please come into our homes this holiday season. Please share with us the Peace and Love that you carry in your heart for us. ANd thank-you for saying Yes to God and giving us Baby Jesus. Amen.

Remember, the Blessed Virgin Mary is both Our Queen, because she is the Mother of Our God and King (thus, she is Queen-Mother, compare it to how King Solomon’s mother is called a queen), but she is also Our Mother, perfected in love and mercy, and she is truly concerned with both our temporal needs and spiritual needs. Even though she is in Heaven, she loves us as her children wants to help us in all things, including joining her one day in Heaven.

Being Our Mother and perfected in charity and mercy, how much it must pain her when one of her children ends up cast into Hellfire. Even though, being perfected, she knows we somehow deserved it, it still must sadden (the best Earthly mother, who is still far from perfect, would grieve over their children going to prison, even if said child had committed a crime to deserve it). So why wouldn’t she do everything possible to help us, especially as it relates to inheriting eternal life.

Am I not here, I who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Do you need something more? Let nothing else worry you or disturb you.

I am a bit skeptical, I must say. It reminds me of those prayers to St Jude one sees in the paper that are supposedly always effective, or like magical thinking. To whom and under what circumstances were these promises made?

My first ever rosary, I purchased in an Anglican Church. The funny thing is, I very rapidly became Catholic therefore after!

Like how he can question the prayers from St. Jude. I just cannot understand how anyone can find it hard to believe that a St praying for you could not reach the ears of our Dear Lord and not be answered according to his will.

The issue of the St. Jude prayer thing is slightly different because one could ask for something that was either sinful or just perhaps inappropriate at some level (i.e. as St. Paul said, lawful but not beneficial) and obviously no Saint is going to aide us in sinning or doing harm to ourselves.

The Brown Scapular and Green Scapular are geared towards aiding/ensuring our Salvation. Obviously, it is the desire of Our Mother and our Brothers and Sisters in Heaven, all of them perfected in charity, that we one day join them, even though we may rightly deserve Hell.

Yes, sometimes it can be a sudden change, with others it may take years. But steadfast faith and knowledge of Christ words can aid the change very well. Prayers are the most important part, I’d say.

Keep on praying I’m a convert and I know God worked in my life before my first Confession, even though I was still in my sins. That’s why He brought you to the Church! because the Holy Spirit is working in your life.

It’s also true that being in a state of grace helps our prayers be more effective… and that’s why Mary’s prayers are so powerful, because she’s so close to God. Ask her to pray for you as well. But don’t worry, and trust God.

wonderful! I became a Catholic soon after I got a Rosary too… and I bought it before I really agreed with any Catholic doctrines, except the Eucharist.

Perhaps you should consider what the Catholic Church teaches about prayer, and about superstition.

The gist is clear - no one, not even saints, can guarantee the exact outcome of prayer. At most, we can say that no matter what we ask from a Saint, he or she will pray for us. But guarantees that a prayer “is never known to fail” show a deep misunderstanding of the nature of prayer.
