The 2008 Corpus Christi Procession Thread

We will have the first one in my town’s history (and it has a pretty long Catholic presence). The procession will take to the streets and will go from parish to parish (four total) with stops at each for Benediction. 👍

I got a call today from Miles Christi that they will be having a Day of Recollection on Sunday with Mass and Corpus Christi procession. We will be at Grotto for the day, but thought others might like to know of options in that part of town.

Anyone else know where people can participate in a Corpus Christi Procession?

Give us the place, the day and time, along with other practical info and any links.
 
Assuming it doesn’t rain, there will be an outdoor Eucharistic Procession at St. Cecilia’s Church, 321- 90th Ave. SE in Calgary, which will take place around the perimeter of the parking lot.

In case of rain, the procession will be modified somewhat, and will take place indoors. In either case, there will be four altars.

There will also be an outdoor Eucharistic Procession at St. Bonaventure Church, which is at 1600 Acadia Dr. SE, also in Calgary. Bishop Grandin High School band will be playing for that. I don’t know what their contingency plan is, if it rains.
 
The Archdiocese of New Orleans has a Corpus Christi Procession from Jesuit’s (aka Immaculate Conception) down Canal St and thence to the Cathedral in the French Quarter. Well over a mile.

Loved the pictures from Sevilla! I have actually been to the top of La Giralda! The French Quarter in New Orleans isn’t French, it’s Spanish and I got so homesick in Sevilla it wasn’t even funny. 😃
 
The Mass and procession at Grotto today was OUTSTANDING!!! The most beautiful weather for the outdoor portion, and the Mass with the orchestra and choir was just so beautiful.

Two and a half hours - it didn’t even feel like it, it was over so fast!

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon, following Jesus around! 😃

unfortunately i wasn’t able to attend this procession, but the holy family parish cluster in northern macomb/st. clair counties had a 3.5 mile procession from one church to the other.
 
Diane, we had one down at St. Mary’s in Rockwood, which was remarkably well-attended. There were about 300 people in the procession, which took to the streets. The police and fire departments even blocked off the streets along the route. It was absolutely beautiful!
 
Ours got rained out, so we had a prayer service indoors, instead, with the Eucharist being processed around the Church.
 
What a teaser Diane!!! 😃 Those three are lovely, can’t wait to see the rest when you get them done!
