I never knew! Thanks for informing me, this is very enlightening. I will go through these lists as soon as i have the time.
The Archdiocese of Washington link also has the scripture verse where the name appears.

Hope this helps you. 🌷

Im sure you’d understand that almost every convert carries devotions of sentimental value from his birth religion to his adopted one. I have a relative who married into a Druze family that had converted to Maronite Christianity and who still venerate several Druze saints privately. Some things are just to ingrained for one to let go off, i guess… From the responses on this thread, the 99 names of God does not seem to be an unChristian devotion.
I have heard of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, but as of yet i have no idea how to pray it. I have been looking for a good book on various Christian devotions , do you happen to know any??

If you are interested in Catholic devotions, I’d recommend one of the old-school prayer books like the Pieta Prayer Book or the Catholic Pocket Prayer Book by Jacqueline Lindsay.

A lot of the commercially available prayer books are very Scripture-based or are more “modern” and not so similar to the traditional litanies with the many names.

Thank you! I’ll check those out.
I dont like the modern prayer books myself as i feel that they dont have a “spiritual” feel to them.
I personally prefer doing things the traditional way, i once tried praying the Rosary on an online app and felt like i was simply banally repeating words, not praying to the Mother of God.
