But see, the Eucharist, which is the topic of this thread, does appear in Scripture. We Catholics try to keep close to Scripture and not add things to it.
I know what the topic of the thread is and I know what the Eucharist is. I also know Bema Seat was brought up and so I asked where it was in the Bible. It was a valid question.

you can’t read the bible either. us catholics gave the world the bible…

hey I didn’t even realize that xmydreamsfacex started this thread! I thought someotherguy did!

yeah, i started this thread on a rant. didn’t think it would go this far… haha.

I am just going to throw this out there for someotherguy and see what you have to say…What were the Christians doing before there was a Bible? Since, as I am sure you know, the first gospel accounts were not written until some fifteen years or so after the death of Christ. Also, the Bible, as understood as the word of God ratified with the assitance of the Divine Paraclete, was not completed until the fifth century. What about the thousands of Christians that came before? I am just curious to see what you would say was going on during this period of time. Thanks…

from another thread of someotherguy, i think he might be with the Westboro baptist Church… Lord, i hope not…

They were studying the scriptures, meeting in homes for corporate preaching and teaching of God’s word, corporate worship, etc.

What about them? You act as if the church didn’t have the books that make up the Bible.

Nope. Not even a little bit. I’ve been a very strong and consistent critic of Westboro church. They are not Baptist, by the way.

As is proved in historical text…much of the New Testament had not been written yet. And again, for the first fifteen years there was no New Testament…So what scripture were they studying?

and talked about how the Holy Spirit has the power to change people on the inside, comparing it to someone making a pot from clay.
so, my question is, why do protestants believe that the Holy Spirit has the power to “mold” people into something better, but can’t change a piece of bread or some wine into the ACTUAL Body and Blood of Christ?
Hi

Followings are essential for a truthful faith:
  1. Belief in GodAllahYHWH, the only creator of the Universe; He is neither physical nor a spirit but only attributives; the Christian sometimes call Him father in heaven because he is the creator of the Universe.
  2. Belife in the angels, that they are servant of GodAllahYHWH sent to help; the Christians name it the holy spirit. They have no will of their own; they implement what is commanded by GodAllahYHWH.
  3. Word of Revelation from GodAllahYHWH for guidance of man.
  4. The MessengersProphets of GodAllahYHWH; since He loves his ChosenOnes amongst the humans, the Christians sometimes name them sons of God in symbolic terms only.
  5. Day of Judgement.
Since our CatholicsProtestants friends have nothing with them certain as Word from the mouth of GodAllahYHWH, nor anything from the mouth of JesusYeshuaIssa nor anything authenticated by Jesus; so they have now only obscure glimpses of the truth in all the essentials of faith. They have to reconstruct all these pillars of faith anew with the help of OTBible and Quran for their salvation, in my opinion, if they are interested in the Truth.

The question here is not what can or what cannot GodAllahYHWH do. He is all powerful, He can do whatever is within his declared attributes; but He won’t do against His attributes as that is a blemish. Why would He transform water into wine? He doesnot need to. Why should the holy spirit involve into a bad act when it is not a good act according to OTBible. Did Moses drink wine? No; so why Jesus a Jew should do it? I think it is a misconception of some anonymous scribe.

Thanks

This guy won’t listen. I hope he’s not possessed by “some other guy”.😃

Goodnight and fellow Catholics, let’s pray for him!

Did you know that the Old testament existed long before the New Testament? Likewise, did you know that there were men to preach to the NT church before the books and epistles of the NT were written?

Dude, don’t say that about anybody. They’re in their own category.

Forgive me for asking, but based on some of your comments, may I ask, do you subscribe to the version of history set forth in James Carroll’s “Trail of Blood?” That might help us to better understand where you’re coming from.

1 Corinthians 10 - New International Version

15 I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say.

16 **Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? **

17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.

1 Corinthians 11

23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,

24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

27 Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

28 A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.

29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.

Don’t know. Never read it.

Well no kidding there was an Old Testament…What about the fact that paper was scarce and the majority of people couldn’t read? And besides that, on what documents do you state that people were studying scripture in the sense that you do it today? Have you ever heard of or read something called the Didache? In case you have not, let me give you the basics on it…It is a first century liturgical text used by the first Christian communities in Jerusalem. It is the oldest known document to show us how the early church worshipped…and guess what…They celebrated the Mass almost verbatim to what goes on today. So your assertion that they were sitting in eachothers homes reading scripture, when most people could not afford paper and were not even literate to begin with, is asinine and without foundation.
