Dr. Bernard Nathanson tells his own story in The Hand Of God - A Journey from Death to Life by the Abortion Doctor Who Changed His Mind. His “conversion” to being prolife was the result of the development of the ultrasound (late 1970s). And in 1996, he converted to the Catholic faith.

He exposes the mind of an abortionist:
You pursue me: You ask if perhaps for a fleeting moment or so I experienced a flicker of regret, a microgram of remorse? No and no. And that, dear reader, is the mentality of the abortionist: another job well done, another demonstration of the moral neutrality of advanced technology in the hands of the amoral" (pp.60-61).
It is interesting that while he was an abortionist, he saw the pro-life crowds and the prayer warriors outside of his clinics differently than after his conversion. He could not see the love, peace, selflessness of the individuals until his heart was in a different place.

He presently encourages us to be awake and to be informed about the reproductive technology of today: genetic manipulation and engineering, assisted reproductive technology, etc. priestsforlife.org/media/nathansoninterview.htm (An interview with Fr. Frank Pavone, Priests for Life)

Awake, alert, informed, and praying!
