What is the spiritual life of angels? Do they spend all their time in prayer? Do they go to communion?

:angel1:

In that demension…I would guess that Angels are in perpetual communion w/ the Father…

By ‘go to communion’, I assume you mean ‘receive Eucharist’? No… the angels are completely spiritual beings, not physical beings. So, they cannot receive the Eucharist in the way that we do. However, they are in the presence of God eternally. ‘What they’re doing’, however, is a question that we can’t fully answer, just as we can’t fully answer the question of what the saints in heaven are ‘doing’…!

The angels do the will of the Lord, they are his messengers, and the different choirs have different things to do for the Lord.

The angels, and all the humans in heaven are so rapt with the Beatific Vision that they would never desire to leave it.

Okay. We have the Mass and other Sacraments as a source of Grace. As well as being united in the “Mystical Body of Christ.” So then Angels are not part of the “Mystical Body of Christ”? 😊

No, the angels are not part of the Mystical Body of Christ. They had no need to be saved.

They are part of the Kingdom of od. (Eeeek, my keyboard will not allow me to type the capital letter I needed in front of od.)

If the angels are not part of the “Mystical Body of Christ”; do they have any spiritual unity? What are the sources of grace for them, if they have no “Church?”

The Blessed Trinity.

Remember, they had no need of redemption,…they stayed with the Lord and did not fall.

Okay, right! Christians are said to be Temples of the Holy Spirit. I wonder if the good angels carry the Holy Spirit in them as well. So they have a spiritual unity through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. 😉

Sounds right to me! 🙂

😊

I do not know it, but Holy Bible has told us that angels can come from Heaven with us, with us, and help us.

**
Hebrews 1
14Are not all angels spirits in the divine service, sent to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?

Luke 22
43Then an angel from heaven appeared to him and gave him strength.

Hebrews 13
Let mutual love continue. 2Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.

Psalm 34
7 The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Psalm 91
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.

Matthew 18
10 ‘Take care that you do not despise one of these little ones; for, I tell you, in heaven their angels continually see the face of my Father in heaven.**

roselily,

Thanks for all those bible quotes. The invisible world of the angels is very active to assist us!

And, when the Lord so desires, sometimes they are not invisible. They can take on the appearance of man and assist us in various ways…and just leave as mysteriously as they arrived.

Well we know they carry out God’s will. More than that we cannot know.

It’s like a monkey asking what a mystics does all day. A monkey only understands sex, food, and some other basic concepts. A mystic much more.

and the difference between us and an angel is far greater than a monkey and a mystic.

The very concept of ‘what are you doing’ is somewhat deceiving and tied to our physical being.

Sure angels have some sort of ‘activity’ but what exactly is, is hard to tell, they are so unlike us.

:hug1:–You are kind, Dear Dorothy.

You are right, and I will always bless our Lord.
