The Anime Thread

[Lost_Wanderer]

My problem is that a lot of character archetypes are way overused. Ouran High School Host Club made fun of overuse a lot.

Actually, animes like Ouran are deliberately like that because of one little reason.

Parody. XD

Uh yes, that’s basically what I was saying.

Nice thread here about one’s most hated anime (you need to register there to see it): pinoyexchange.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343076 Would love to see you guys join there, too.

I figured that this would be a good place to post this. This is more of a free-for-all thread than anything else, but I guess it’s guided by these general questions:

1. What are some of your favorite anime?
2. Are there any anime that you find conducive to Catholic values?
3. What annoys you about the portrayal of religion and the Western world in anime?
4. So forth.

1. .hack//sign, any Studio Ghibli, Inuyasha.
2. Trigun
3. The fact that many shows like Neon Genesis Evangelion and Full Metal Alchemist present negative portrayals of Christians in them.
My favorite VA’s are Crispin Freeman, Wendee Lee and fellow Christian Johnny Yong Bosch (he’s very vocal about his faith).
