If someone asked me about the ossuary of James ( a fake), the Da Vinci Code,( fiction) or the Gospel of Judas ( a Gnostic gospel) I would say have you read the real gospels, they tell us the truth.

In the following week we should not let ourselves be distracted by topics designed to put us off concentrating on the Passion and Death of Our Lord. Let us ignore them- for at least a week.

But at the same time be ready to give answers for those who DO allow themselves to be distracted and shaken in their faith.

During this most holy week I will not allow any of these silly stories distract me and my family. I plan to go to confession on Tuesday, go to church on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and pray for the souls who left this earth. I feel people who believe these stories are of weak faith. The only way to stay strong in our faith is to continue to pray and receive the Holy Eucharist daily, if possible.

The professor they talked to debunks this dopey theory pretty handily. It’s amazing how shallow these ideas are once you ask a couple of simple questions. People that believe this tripe need to employ some basic critical thinking skills.

I was writing about those we meet on the net, on this and other boards. The ones who bring up the topic for discussion are none believers anyway and just want to cause trouble in our ranks. They are not worth our time or effort.

Not surprisingly, this Tabor fellow was also prominently featured in the “Gospel of Judas” program. You’re right, Fidelis, this guy is the antithesis of critical thinkers everywhere.
