Yes there has been many anti christs, i.e. Nero, Hitler, Stalin, but I’m referring to the man of sin (perdition), who is to come prior to the second coming.The anti christ has been here as St. Paul told us…

A theology that was developed in the 19th century by an individual whose was considered to be a heretic by both the Protestants and Catholics of the day.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10, the “Man of Sin” is described as one who will be revealed before the Day of the Lord comes. The Codices Sinaiticus and Vaticanus have the reading, “Man of Lawlessness,” and Metzger argues this is the original reading.[1] Codices such as Alexandrinus, Boernerianus and Claromontanus have “Man of Sin”.
This Man of Sin “will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God,” and “set himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God” (verse 4). Something is said to be “holding him back” (verse 6), though that will be “taken out of the way” (verse 7). A “lawless one” will be revealed (verse 8), whom Jesus will destroy “by the splendor of his coming.”
The Man of Sin is also described in verse 3 as the Son of Perdition (translated in the NIV as “the man doomed to destruction”). This phrase is used of Judas Iscariot in John 17:12.

This anti Christ would have a place of power in the world in which that he would have a political ideology behind him. What kind of ideology would that be? Would it be a more conservative view, meaning a view where the people should have more control over gov’t? Or would it be an ideology of socialism or communism where gov’t has more control of people’s lives? Which would serve anti Christ best? One who supports socialism or communism would say neither. One who supports conservatism would say socialism or communism. I think that says a lot in my view.

No one can say when the antichrist will appear, and I think that most people will not recognize him at first until his depravity is displayed for the world to see. scripture gives us some hints as to the characteristics of the Antichrist and one such hint is that the antichrist will be a jew from the tribe of Dan and will deceive many jews into believing that he is the promised messiah. And this is based on the account in Genesis where Jacob speaks a prophecy about each of his sons and their tribe
In Genesis 49:1 Jacobs says:
“Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.”
And in verses 16-18 concerning Dan he says:
“Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. [17] Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. [18] I have waited for thy salvation, O Lord.”
Dan is associated with the serpent; usually used a symbol of Satan and certainly so in the book of Genesis, and so Jacob seems to prophecy and impending evil coming from the tribe of Dan associated with Satan.
And in the Book of Revelation chapter 7, all of the tribes of Israel are mentioned in regards to them being sealed as servants of God except for the tribe of Dan which was excluded and replaced with Manasses the son of Joseph.
“And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. [5] Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. [6] Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand. [7] Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. [8] Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.”
People have also taken Jesus’ words in John 5:43 as a vague reference to the Antichrist:
John 5:43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him.
This other person who comes in his own name is believe to be the Antichrist who will, in his pride declare himself to be the messiah and demand to be worshiped as God. And Jesus says that they would not believe Him, but when this man comes they will believe that man (antichrist) by so doing convicting them of their unbelief by being more accepting of a servant of Satan than the Son of God and true messiah Jesus Christ.
In regards to the ideology of the Antichrist, I believe it will simply be a cult of personality, he will be a charismatic leader who is able to fix many problems with the world and people will love him for it, but this utopian dream can only be attained through apostasy/ idolatry and acknowledging the antichrist as God anyone who does not will be persecuted and ostracized from the rest of the world (people barred from engaging in commerce if they do not have the mark of the beast) He will be very similar to Jesus in that they both play the role of messiah, but all the while that messiah mask will just be a clever disguise for his evil whereas Jesus is the true messiah

A major problem with prophecies is that they are much clearer in hindsight than in foresight. A good example is the prophecies for the Messiah.

He could come in our time. There has been an expectation even in the earliest times of the Church. Unfortunately there has been those in every generation who predict the end is here, which gives the study of end times a bad name, and many people then don’t take it serious enough.
