I know that some interpret Iudith as “fiction,” but I’ve also heard that some Catholics (maybe a small minority) have some arguments that would say that Iudith is not ficiton, but is historical. I’m sorry for my lack of references, but I’ve also read that St Ierome, while thinking Iudith was non-canonical, thought it was accurate history, anyways…
