“HE DESCENDED INTO HELL ON THE THIRD DAY HE ROSE AGAIN”
633
"It is precisely these holy souls, who awaited their Savior in Abraham’s bosom, whom Christ the Lord delivered when he descended into hell."482 Jesus did not descend into hell to deliver the damned, nor to destroy the hell of damnation, but to free the just who had gone before him.483
637
In his human soul united to his divine person, the dead Christ went down to the realm of the dead. He opened heaven’s gates for the just who had gone before him.

With all the Scriptures quoted as a source for this section of the CCC; why does the quote from 1 Peter 3 end with verse 19? Verse 20 indicates that Christ proclaimed to the disobedient spirits who formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared.
1 Peter 3: 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which he went and
proclaimed to the spirits in prison, 20 because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.
So, wouldn’t that mean Christ proclaimed his salvation to the disobedient and not only to the “just” in the prison of the dead? Please help me to understand.
Peace,
Anna
