In the Archdiocese of Washington (Washington, D.C.), what are some of the most liturgically traditional parishes (i.e., parishes with the Traditional Latin Mass (FSSP or not), and/or reverent Novus Ordo Masses)?

I assume that the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception has very reverent Novus Ordo Masses (I did some research, and so I know that they don’t have any regularly-scheduled Tridentine Masses), especially their Sunday Mass at Noon. Would I be correct in assuming that?

Their Masses are available on YouTube, actually. You could check them out almost personal.
 
Okay, so up to this point, it looks like Sacred Heart in Bowie, MD, is the only parish in the Archdiocese of Washington that’s worth checking out. I’m sure that I’ll get more responses, soon, though.
 
I’d give the post time. It’s barely been up here 8 hours.

It’s a Federal holiday and a lot of folks are out with their families. Especially the area you’re talking about as the Feds are the biggest employer in the Capital Region.

Didn’t say you were complaining…just saying it’s a Federal holiday in the very area you’re asking about…and it might be easy to forget that…

It isn’t in the Archdiocese, but you might try Holy Transfiguration Melkite parish. Definitely liturgically conservative, but it might not be your cup of tea.
 
I suspect Sacred Heart still reverently celebrates Mass.

I just found out that Monsignor Charles Parry left that parish last year, after 18 or so years, and he went to St Patrick’s in Rockville, MD, so the odds are St Patrick’s will be a safe bet too.

I appreciate the suggestion. However, I’m looking for something in the Roman/Latin Rite.
 
Ok, so we got Sacred Heart, (maybe) the BNSIC (the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception), and (perhaps) St. Patrick, so far. Liturgically, it must be a relatively liberal Archdiocese, lol…
 
I’m glad to know that there are people looking out. Us traditionalists shouldn’t have to put up with travesties, such as liturgical dance or bad music.

But non-traditionalists get thrown to the wolves? Just because somebody prefers the OF doesn’t mean they should have to put up with bad liturgy. :roll_eyes:
 
It’s not a liberal archdiocese. I know there is a parish in the district (Chinatown, area, I think) that does a lot of Latin masses. But the norm in the DC area is novus ordo but on the traditional side. No silliness or folk guitar.

That said, the DC area is huge so you may want to narrow it down a bit. Where exactly are you moving to?
 
Nobody is getting “thrown to the wolves.” The Ordinary Form is alright, as long as the liturgies are reverent (For example, no liturgical dance, bad contemporary music, or any garbage like that).
