I recently had a discussion with a friend of mine who considers himself an atheist, and was stricken at how the “new atheism” sounds like a religion, he could site me books, speakers websites etc and even nearly had a deontological code of what to consider true or false.
The god of the atheist takes a new name, it is called “evidence”
In light of this could we consider the atheism a religion?
Repellent as the idea would sound.
