Darth Vader isn’t real. Stop trying to pin partisan 21st century political terms to things that are simply meant for entertainment.

I am confused as to why you have a problem with a question it’s a legitimate question just because someone is fictional doesn’t mean they can’t do evil in their Universe at least. I mean it’s pretty obvious that Darth Vader is meant to be the bad guy. I feel like the OP is simply asking why Darth Vader is the bad guy I don’t see a problem with that.

Not oppression, defense. The Jedi were opposing the Sith’s right to practice. He was merely helping restore those liberties that had forced the Sith to only have two members out of fear of discovery.

Ultimately, he didn’t commit blasphemy of the Holy Spirit at the hour of his death, so he’s good. No internal final rejection.

We’ve never had a Saint do everything that Vader did. St Vladimir of Kiev probably comes the closest, though the way we measure sin isn’t the way God measures sin. St Vladimir, along with murdering his father and older brother and many other people in order to gain power, also had a harem of hundreds of women, and Vader was a celibate bachelor/widow dressed in all black, though we can blame the PG rating for that one along with being torched by lava from head to toe. Maybe it comes out to a tie if you exclude Vader blowing up a planet.

I don’t know that he had any faith in nor concept of the Holy Spirit either – He was a sad devotee of an ancient hokey religion.

But it is true, at least, that in the end he didn’t choke. 😛

Not too sure about the false prophecy. “The Chosen One” was supposed to bring balance to The Force and if we see Anakin as The Chosen One then he actually fulfilled the prophecy. Before Anakin, the Force was way out of balance in favour of the Jedi. Anakin reduced things to an equal number of Sith and Jedi. Seems like a great example of needing to be careful of what you wish for.
 
How about flagrant violations of the lawsxof physics, common sense, and over acting?

According to Wookieepedia, the sand people a.k.a. Tusken Raiders cannot interbreed with humans and produce fertile, viable offspring. So, that would make it more like speciesism than racism. Maybe Vader committed acts of racism too that weren’t listed here. I’ve read that, in general, the Empire was racist against human subspecies and speciesist against non-human species.
 
I dunno, I think it’s pretty atrocious you all reminded me there were prequels. 😛

I know it’s widely considered a weak point in the original trilogy, but his death scene makes me cry every single time.

Cloud City signed a treaty of non-aggression with the Empire which was sporadically broken, so the use of cryogenic equipment was illegal under intergalactic law. I just don’t think the Empire cared is all.

The events of Return of the Jedi took place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, and this was pre Christ as well as pre Judaism. Still, interiorly it would have been a rejection or acceptance of grace, and then waiting in the bosom of Abraham to be assumed with Christ into Heaven, with perhaps an extremely, extremely lengthy detour in Purgatory.
