What makes it different from the current guidelines, aside from the language?
 
What makes it different from the current guidelines, aside from the language?
I’m not that familiar with the ceremony before Vat.II except what I remember from my baby brother’s Baptism in 1958. I do know the prayers of exorcism were longer and they put salt in the baby’s mouth.
 
This is the traditional, pre–Vatican II rite of baptism. Scroll to “The Rite of Baptism,” a bit more than a third of the way down the page.
