I have heard vague rumors that Bishop Finn of Kansas City, Mo would like to expel NCReporter from his diocese. (NCReporter HQ is in Kansas City Mo.)

Of course, this is the same bishop who granted the Institute of Christ the King an oratory to permit them to have the TLM in prepetuity. That means the Kansas City will have always have a Latin Mass. A subsequent bishop could not revoke it without explicit papl approval.

“Thinking Catholic” is a pejoritive. I consider Pope Benedict and Bishop Bruskewitz as “Thinking Catholics”.

I could think of some more accurate terms to use instead, but I like Catholic Answers Forum and do not want to be banned.

God bless Bishop Finn! I can’t wait for their oratory to be dedicated. I’ll go to the dedication, if I can. Bishop Finn has been so good for this diocese. He has given us hope. He turned things around very quickly in his first year as bishop- it only continues to get better.

A Bishop cannot “expel” a business from his diocese.

(And the issue of the use of the term “Catholic” in the title of the publication was settled in the courts years ago.)

In these forums we are free to express our opinions and possibly shape other’s opinions. So I’m pointing out that there are two different NEWS periodicals that both have the abbrev NCR. Yet they are radically different in their honesty. One pretends to be Catholic and one actually is. It is a service that I’m proviiding to the CAF community to point out this fraud. Thannk you for YOUR commentary and YOUR opinion.

Yes, I think the majority of readers here agree with you. But John was simply asking for the evidence behind your claim that Bishop Finn wants to evict National Catholic Reporter from his diocese.

BTW, there are very few around this board who don’t know the difference between the Reporter and the Register.

I happen to prefer the Reporter, mostly because of their correspondent John Allen.

If I were looking for a funny parody I would read the Reporter. Unfortunately, it turns out they take their periodical seriously. Pathetic is an apt adjective.
