But the angel said to me, “Why marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is to ascend from the bottomless pit and go to perdition; and the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will marvel to behold the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.”–Revelation 17:7-8

This is my current undestanding of this verse. Please tell me if it makes sens. With this understanding, my old idea of predestination which does not make sens with a loving God was removed.

Considering that God is I AM. And how Jesus considered the past and the future. It seems to me that This Beast which IS NOT. Is simply a confirmation that there is not evil in God, that is in the ‘present moment’ for those who really ARE in the present moment.

I think we commit sins everytime we ‘behold’ the past for various reasons which may rise in us bad toughts and intentions…related to pride, guilt, etc.
Or the future when we instead of leaving fully in the present moment, we get distracted by ‘dreams’, worries, and the like and loose our precious time…
Does this make sens?

When I look at saints who lived plainly in the present without worries for the future, I guess that’s what eternity means: Living forever, and plainly, with all their hearts in the present moment and hope that one day we will be confirmed in this eternity.

If Jesus is Life, then being written in the book of life doesn’t simply mean being in grace.
And therefore the foundation of the world isn’t it Jesus himself who is the Alpha and Omega, and the Logos in whom all things were created?
