The San Carlo al Corso - The church that the Cathedral Basilica of S.S. Peter and Paul in Philadelphia was modeled after using the Roman-Corinthian architectural style. Colors and artwork aren’t the same (ours doesn’t have all that gold, especially, and our columns are greenish), but similar in many other ways.

What’s the name of that church? It looks nice.
Saint Thomas. It is located in Bardstown, Kentucky. I wish I had some pictures of the interior but I do not. The church sits on over 300 acres of land. The original owner of the farm willed the property to the Diocese of Bardstown. In the will, it stipulated that none of the land could ever be sold. So it is nice for this church to still be sitting on that farm. There once was a Seminary located on the premises but burned down. It was also once the home of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.

There is just so much Catholic history in this neck of the woods. We’re known as the “Holy Lands of Kentucky” because of all that happened in this area. It is a wonderful place to take a pilgrimage and learn about. Back in the 1980’s, we were about 70% Catholic in this area. I believe that number has dwindled some with growth in population but this area is still rather poplulated with Catholics.

An old controversial Catholic Church in the Philippines.
How lovely and nice to see other churches from the Philippines posted on here! I posted a few from my mother’s province Iloilo a couple pages back.

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Chapel in Flagstaff, AZ. You’ll have to take my word for it that the interior is beautiful because I can’t find any pictures of the inside. I was here last October when I helped with the parish teens retreat. Apparently its a protected historic building.

My parish, St. Henry’s, is in the (slow) process of building a new church, I wish I had pictures of the current sketches, but alas I do not.

Thanks for the pics! I must get over to see those!

Now that we are approaching Lent, here are some of the stational Churches in Rome:

San Clemente:

Here is Santa Maria degli Angeli. While I am not sure if this is a stational church, it is beautiful:

Here is the Church of St. Augustine in Rome:

I am not sure if it is a stational church, but, it, too, is magnificent.

Here is Santa Maria Domenica, a Leten Stational Church:

These are all simply astounding! 👍

This is a wonderful thread and I have been glued to it all day long !

Thank you everyone who provided photos and links !
