been there - my son lives in St. Paul, and yes it is wonderful! Here’s a shot of the Cathedral/National Shrine of St. Paul the Apostle in St. Paul MN. Beautiful, isn’t it? And, here are shots of the interior: Photo Album.
I have seen the Basilica of St Mary from the outside, but have not been in it yet. Next time I take a trip out to Minnesota, I want to check it out. Our county (not to mention the whole world!) sure has some gorgeous churches, I think it would be great to tour the country and visit different Catholic churches. This thread is so enlightening and gratifying!Yes, our cathedral and the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis are quite lovely. I shudder to think what would have been built in our own day instead of the 19th century.
Christine and Gary, thank you for sharing your pix, as well. Both are “sweet” without being too sweet, if you know what I mean. My own parish is a modern building with few elements to recommend it for beauty, sad to say. But, I’m enjoying all the pix of all the lovely churches. Thanks everyone!
