While I fully understand the appeal of bible alone, I also know the worst aspects of human nature that it appeals to. The Catholic Church struggles to keep all on the same page. Read Paul’s letters! It was no different 2,000 years ago!
But, bible alone? That world is self-pulverizing to the point of the denomination of the individual. As I see it, that was how it started - it’s just that educated, powerful, charismatic individuals in Europe convinced others to believe as they did.As we read time and again in the Old Testament, we are a rebellious people.
A new denomination or three every day. And that’s the rest of the story.
