I have a Baptist friend who occasionally tells me about missionary speakers they have at their church. Often, it seems, they are from some organization that is translating bibles into the language for the people.
I have to wonder if the Church doesn’t already have a bible in the language and they are trying to raise money to print protestant bibles to displace Catholic ones. Not knowing for sure, I hold my tongue.
I have found one reference to a website that lists known bible transations, but it looked like a non-Catholic site and didn’t differentiate (and may not consider) Catholic transations of Scripture.
Does anyone know of a good reference for the languages into which the Church has approved scripture translations?
