The bible is corrupt?

It makes absolutely no sense at all that Jesus (pbuh) would spend the entire period of his ministry preaching to the lost sheep of Israel only and then immediately after his alleged crucifixion orders his disciples to go to all nations and preach to all people.
  1. He really was crucified. There is no “alleged.”
  2. You misstated what He told His disciples after He was crucified: they were first to preach to Jerusalem, Judea and then the whole world.
  3. It all makes eminent sense when one realizes that Israel is the people especially called by God. They retained a more pure knowledge of God when the rest of the world wandered into polytheism.

Jesus (pbuh) himself bears witness in the Bible against the Jews that they had changed the commands and doctrines of God and substituted them with their own traditions.

"Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees (learned Jews), which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to [his] father or [his] mother, [It is] a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, [he shall be free]. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. [Ye] hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men." … (Matthew 15:1-9)

Why are Christians so reluctant to believe what Jesus (pbuh) says in the Bible regarding it’s corruption by scribes and Pharisees?

because His charge has nothing to do with textual corruption.
Right!

One of the things I’ve learned recently in studying literature is that one cannot think any better or clearer than one can read. This claim ab’t what Jesus said is simply a case of not reading what was said clearly.

because His charge has nothing to do with textual corruption.
When read together with this verse…

`How can you say, “We [the Jews] are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?’ … (Jeremiah 8:8)

… then what else could it mean if not textual corruption?.. unless you are suggesting that the scribes mentioned in the Bible also tend to do other kinds of relevant work apart from writing scripture?

The key is in noting the diff between Scripture itself and how it is “handled.” To use an example mentioned here before: the Bible says that they will be able to handle serpents without being harmed. Some take it literally–this is handling the text wrongly. The text itself isn’t corrupt.

How do you interpret this aya:

[015:091] (So also on such) as have made Quran into shreds (as they please).

Does it mean the text is corrupt? does it mean everyone is involved in corruption?

This is another example of corruption in the Bible:

Luke 24
44 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”
45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.
46 He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,
47 and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 You are witnesses of these things.

There is a serious forgery in Luke 24:44-48 because it says that it is written that Jesus (pbuh) will die and resurrect on the third day.

Where in the Old Testament is there a prophecy about Jesus’ third day resurrection?

This is another example of corruption in the Bible:
How can it be “another” when the “first” was proven to be false?
This is what is written:
You have assumed by your question that this phrase refers to a specific verse. It is referring to the general context of Scripture–that’s more like what the Semitic mind thinks like vs. our Greek mind-set.

I am not sure what it means to tell the truth.

Thanks for the links! They are great! No doubt I’ll have to use them over and over.

I’d like to add that “it is written” does not refer to one passage or a specific passage. Sometimes the author says “it is written” and combines different OT authors in his passage depending on the message he wants to convey. If not mistaken, Matthew is know for doing it, after all, he was preaching Jews.

Just find all of the contradicting verses in the Bible and you will then discover your corrupted passages.
Technically the Bibe, both Old and New Testament, and Qur’an are each to a point corrupt. While each prophet was “downloading” God’s message it was possible that they both God’s words in their own point of veiw. It is like dowloading a massive program on a computer with very little memory. When one starts the program after the download has completed everything looks very, very, very bitty and messy.

I don’t believe that Hamba will visit and check out any of the links you have given him. He is not interested in debate and interaction - he is just on the attack. How can anyone have a discussion with someone like that.

🤷

I have indeed visited and briefly browsed through those websites.

However, I could not find the answer to the question I asked → Where in the Old Testament is there a prophecy about Jesus’ third day resurrection?

Entire period!!!, its only 3 years He was preaching to the lost sheep of Israel compared to Muhammed’s 23 years (yet to the Arabs only)!
If the divine message that he brought was intended for all of humankind, then why couldn’t he declare it in no uncertain terms right from the beginning of his mission like what Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did?
(John 7:1-9):
After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were waiting to take his life. But when the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was near, Jesus’ brothers said to him, “You ought to leave here and go to Judea, so that your disciples may see the miracles you do. No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” For even his own brothers did not believe in him. Therefore Jesus told them, “The right time for me has not yet come; for you any time is right. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that what it does is evil. You go to the Feast. I am not yet going up to this Feast, because for me the right time has not yet come.” Having said this, he stayed in Galilee.
The Lord protected Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from his enemies and so why couldn’t He do the same for Prophet Jesus (pbuh)?
(Luke 22:41-42):
He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.
I would have to conclude that Jesus (pbuh) … and by extension God Himself… intentionally lied when he said “I was sent ONLY to the lost sheep of Israel” in Matthew 15:24.
Firstly, that was BEFORE the completion of Jesus mission.
Secondly, if Jesus lied then God The Most High shouldn’t have resurrection Him, indeed God should have punished Him and kept Him dead.
Thirdly, if Jesus lied, your Quran should have mentioned that.
Fourthly, if Jesus lied, and since the lie is from Satan, then Muhammed should have not said this hadith:

Sahih Muslim, Book 030, Number 5838:
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The satan touches every son of Adam on the day when his mother gives birth to him with the exception of Mary and her son.
(E) (A)
How on earth is it possible that a true Prophet of God will intentionally break any of the Commandments in order to spread the Message of the Lord?
Muhammed himself broke that Commandment and allowed lying ;):

Sahih Muslim, Book 32, Number 6303:
…she heard Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys good. Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them).
(E)

(A)
**

Where in the Old Testament is there a prophecy about Jesus’ third day resurrection?
(Hosea 6:2):
After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.

(Psalm 16:10):
Because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

(Isaiah 53:10-12):
"Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes [a] his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life ** and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.**"

First, it was the sign of Jonah that Jesus had told them they would have. Jesus himself prophecied it. UNless you want to call Jesus a lier, I suggest that you consider that.

The easiest place to see it is in Psalm 16:7-11
I bless the Lord who has given me understanding, because even in the night, my heart warns me. I keep the Lord always within my sight; for he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. For this reason my heart is glad and my soul rejoices; moreover, my body also will rest secure, for thou wilt not leave my soul in the abode of the dead, nor permit thy holy one to see corruption. Thou wilt show me the path of life, the fullness of joys in thy presence, and delights at thy right hand forever”
To not allow the soul to remain in the abode of the dead and to not allow the body to corrupt is to rise again in the glorified form.
