Hi,
I wanted to know more about the old testament and stumbled on a YouTube channel called The Bible Project. Started from Genesis and they explain everything well and structured. But after watching few videos I realised they have only 39 videos in old testament and so is protestant. I am confused whether to continue or not. Could you please guide me after checking the videos? Or any other catholic oriented videos on Bible to easily understand?

Even though Protestant, if these videos are focusing on the historicity of the books and the general themes, then they should be ok. When they start to say things contrary to Catholicism, then maybe reconsider.

Usual little difficulty with OT protestant scholarship. I have her minister stray to fortelling wars and the end from ot but scholars stay in the middle for the most part, even Jewish scholars.

“Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.”

“Do not stop him,” Jesus said, “for whoever is not against you is for you.”

even if protestants don’t have the fullness of truth im sure you can find these videos valuable and I myself might want to check them out.

I love the Bible Project and have not found any of their videos to go against Catholic teaching. The overall narrative of the bible presented in the Bible Project is pretty universal to Christianity, in my opinion. I wish Catholics had something like this for the Catechism.
