I believe those things in the OT are records…“testimonies” of how those living at the time understood God…“our God must want us to have the land…our God wants us to kill these people…they’re pagans…they’re evil…they need to be eradicated”…of course “our God” commanded these things…and “we” were too happy to carry them out.

Did God command those things…no…did the people believe God commanded those things…of course.

That God is fully understood in Jesus of Nazareth makes sense to me…

The Bible is not just the testimony of men. The Bible is the revelation of God.

The Bible is not men saying, “This is how we understand God” but rather God saying, “This is how you are to understand me.”

The Bible does more than just explain Jesus. Jesus is God. The Bible is the story of God revealing himself to man, as man.

What is revealed by God is his nature - justice and mercy and patience and magesty and kingship and love. The Bible is God kneeling down to his children, speaking to us in language we can understan, and saying, “This is how I want you to understand me.”

The Bible is divine revelation.
