Well, I had my biopsy this afternoon. I have breast cancer at 28 years old. I am also 20 weeks pregnant w/ my 2nd (hopefully) live baby. Talk about complicating matters! 😦 So far we don’t know much about it, just that its present & appears to be non-invasive to preliminary pathology. We’re hoping I’m not like my mom & triple negative BRCA2 positive (breast & ovarian cancer). I’m probably going to head to MD Anderson (where my mom went) for treatment options instead of sticking around my home town. It’ll be difficult w/ a 16 month old, a self-employed husband, and a growing baby in my belly, but in God all things are possible. I’d appreciate any good thoughts & prayers you guys can send me. Right now I’m handling the news pretty well, but its quite possible that eventually I’ll have a mini-breakdown. Until then, I’m just hoping things go well. 🤷

I am so sorry to hear about that. Prayers coming your way. I see you are in KY but I know there are some docs at Northside Hospital in Atlanta who have treated breast cancer in pregnant women and the baby was born healthy.

:console:

Prayers to St Peregrine for you, as well as my next daily Mass.

*Oh BB!! I’m so sorry to hear this…If there is anything we can do or offer, please let us know. I will hold you in my prayers, may God heal you, soon. Rest assure that yes, with God, all things are possible, and you can get through this. *

BiologyBrain, you and your little one are in my prayers, and will continue to be in my prayers.
Your story reminds me of a woman in the pro-life movement (married to a prolife dr) that I had read about somewhere. She was diagnosed with advanced BC at 31 and the next day she found out she was expecting her second child. Let me look her up, I know she was on Oprah… Here is her site, there is a contact page if you decide you would like to contact her: charnettemesse.com/bc.html
Her son is now about 6 years old and she has a successful greeting card company.

There is a lot of cancer in my family, and I have always worried about the possibility of being pregnant with cancer. I will be praying for you. Lean on Him, things may seem overwhelming now, but please remember He won’t give you more than you can handle.

I will light a candle for you tomorrow, and visit the Blessed Sacrament at the Altar.

Agree - see a specialist at MD Anderson or another well known Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Saying a prayer for you and your family!

I’m so sorry to hear this, BB. 😦 I will certainly keep praying for you and your family too. You might invoke the intercession of St. Gerard Majella, as he is a patron saint of mothers with difficult and complicated pregnancies. I have counted on him with many of my pregnancy issues, and he has helped me and our babies through some tough times.:console:

Dear BB, You tell a story very close to my heart. I am the youngest of 11, my mother was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer when she was 43 years old, she happened to be pregnant with me at the time. I am 47 years old and it will be the 2nd anniversary of my mothers death in one week, she was one month short of her 89th birthday. Please, please have faith that God in His endless mercy will take care of you and the child you carry. The Rosary is a powerful prayer, it was prayed non stop by my aunt, Sister Marjorie OSB and her nuns. The doctors recommended to my parents that treatment start immediately, but my parents knew that I probably wouldn’t survive that so they left it in Gods hands. I was born 6 weeks later on Saint Josephs day (the protector of the Holy Family) my patron saint and names sake (Mary Joseph). Miracles do happen, know that your are in my prayers and that I will be saying a Rosary for you and your child. I ask for the intercession of saint Peregrine, pray for us and all those affected by this disease. May God Bless you and bring you peace in your decisions.
Blessed Virgin, Immaculate heart pray for us.

Aw, BB, I’m so sorry to hear about your report. Remember that with God, all things are possible. Our Lord parted the Red Sea, raised His Son from the dead, and created every cell in the universe. Surely, He can fix a few sick cells in his child. Trust in Him with all your heart, and He will guide you. You are in my prayers, my friend.

God bless.

North
