The Blessed Mother's Guardian Angel

Was it Gabriel? We are all assigned a guardian angel. Mary needed special protection from her birth so I wonder if it was an archangel. And since Gabriel was her messenger maybe it was him. I imagine this has been discussed before but I’m not aware of a search function on this forum so apologies if that is the case.

I don’t think it’s been discussed before, but Gabriel would be a good guess, except people are born with Guardian angels, from the 9th choir. Archangels are from the 8th choir.
but as we all know, anything is possible with God!

Ah yes good point forgot about that. Well maybe Mary had a multitude of angels from the 8th choir guarding her! Obviously we may not know for sure but yes as Rose mentioned it’s nice to ponder.

I never heard about different choirs. Where did you find this information?

This is a long time teaching. This article goes through the basic info, but there is a wealth of info in the EWTN online LIbrary as well. Choirs are the groups they are divided into.

IIRC, according to “The Mystical City of God” by Mary of Agreda, Mary had 1000 guardian angels and Jesus had 10,000.
Not without controversy, that.

I can only imagine and pray about how God blessed the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God. She probably had a number of angels at Her protection! The Queen of Heaven and Earth!
