While visiting our son, we got attend the Beautification, attend Mass at his home parish, and meet one of his classmates from Seminary. Was struck by how doing ordinary things can be holy.

Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD has a beautiful display about Father Rother, his life as a seminarian there, his priesthood, and his martyrdom. What struck me when viewing the display is how someone so ordinary in the world’s eyes - an Oklahoma farm boy - could turn out to be someone so extraordinary in God’s eyes.

If it be God’s will, may he soon be recognized as a saint by Holy Mother Church.
