Since Mary was around when the Catholic Church was first being established, does this mean that she received communion at some point? (Sorry if this is a really stupid question. lol)

We would assume so.

No irreverence intended, but man that must have been awkward for her.

Since she was sinless did she need communion?
Yes, we all do. Since she is sinless, she probably did not need to receive again the rest of her life because she never caused any rupture with the communion with her Son through sin.

I don’t really think that communion is linked to sin except that sin can be an impediment.

Receiving Communion is a privilege and a source of sustaining grace, not something used for the remission of sins, so Mary’s sinlessness has no effect.

Peace
James

Not a stupid question but certainly not one that comes up every day…😉

Yes I think that Mary received communion and I think that she did so repeatedly. After what she endured at the cross, and who knows what other trials she went through in the fledgling Church, I would think that communion for her, like for us, would be a wonderful uniting with our Lord and a source of great strength to her.

If we are in a state of grace from confession before Mass, do we need the Eurcharist? Absolutely we do. Sin is not the ultimate reason why we need to take Communion, it is the will to want to partake in the Divine Nature to draw us as close as we can be to God. Blessed Mary would’ve felt the same.

I’m not sure, but wasn’t there a Mass at Pentacost?

Would any mother who truely loved her son not want to be with him intimetly?

I read that yes she received Communion, - I mean Jesus is her God also not only her Son.

… my dear friends ,

… mary was the very first person to receive holy communion when the holy spirit overshadowed her and she conceived the most blessed sacrament jesus in the flesh most truly …

… may god bless and love you all 👍🙂 ,

Why is that? She carried Jesus in her holy body for 9 months already.

Food for thought:
In fact, if you went to daily mass everyday until you were 80 yrs old, you still would not have carried Jesus inside of you as long as she did. Assume the Eucharist is inside of you for 10 minutes before its digested:
You:
10min 365 days80 yrs = 292000 minutes
Mary:
(9 months )*24 hours * 60 min = 394200 minutes
