I am sure that the Blessed Virgin is so key to any dialogue between Catholics and Muslims.

I recently produced the following video exploring this issue;

what are your thoughts on Our Lady as the key to understanding the future for Islam and Catholicism?

Hi

I agree that our Holy Mother Mary is the very link and intercessor who will draw Muslims to the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no human better than Mary who can bring the human race to Christ.

She consented to the Father’s will to bring the Son of God to humanity, and by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit, conceived and bore the Savior of all. She mediated and continues to mediate Christ to the world. She pointed and will continue to point all men to Jesus. God exalted her as blessed above all others, and made her sit at the right hand of Christ, because of her humility and lowliness.

Islam will be saved by Jesus through Mary. No one comes to the Father except through Christ, and no one comes to Christ except through Mary.

God bless,

Rony

sorry , I can’t watch video . It’s a must for Muslims to respect Mother Mary (peace be upon her ). It will be wonderful if Christians can understand Muslims can’t worship Jesus or Mary (pbut) but they do respect them .

On return , it will be great if they just stop using offensive languages against our beloved Prophet Muhammed (pbuh).

Well, according to Sacred Scripture everyone will eventually worship Jesus.
  1. that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
  2. and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. - Philippians 2: 10-11
However, as to worshipping Mary no Catholic would want you to do that. Mary is not God, nor is she a goddess. So you certainly shouldn’t worship her. She is however, worthy of your honor. It is good that Muslims understand that.

I’m curious though why you can’t watch the video?

according to holy Quran , God will ask
Jesus (p) if he taught anyone to worship him & Jesus (p) will deny that . Bible also tell u that Jesus (p) will tell those who worshipped him that Evil doers , I never knew you . An ex Christian wrote that his Church told him it’s about …I forgot now…either Mormons or JW.

internet speed is slow  It takes a lot of time to open video.

Well, as Sacred Scripture is without error I’m going have to accept the Bible’s take on this.

Also, you probably didn’t realize (and that would be understandable) but JW’s and Mormons are not Christian. They could be termed at best as a pseudo-christian belief system. I can understand how that might be confusing though.

Basically the divinity of Christ is a non-negotiable doctrine within Christianity. A religion cannot be Christian if it denies Christ’s divinity and/or does not administer baptism in the name of the triune God.

Yeah, I was wondering if there may have been a technical problem. I understand how frustrating that can be though.

Islam do believe in the Virgin Mary, but I never understood how come some Muslims “think” like most non Catholic christians that Catholics worship Mary? I believe if and when Islam will allow the Muslims to look into the truth of the Catholic faith about Mary and Jesus instead of being banned from Learning the Catholic faith sometimes under the threat of death. Until this threat is lifted by Islam, I dont see how Muslims can be prevented of coming to know the ONe True God through Jesus and Mary.

… JW’s and Mormons are not Christian.
If Jesus (p) is their Saviour , then why they are not Christians ?

Gabriel of 12 : I never understood how come some Muslims “think” like most non Catholic christians that Catholics worship Mary?

–I read some prayers Catholics offer to Mary (p) & other Saints. It’s the direct prayers / asking them for forgiveness / granting something etc. In Islam , if u offer your prayer to someone else except God , it’s the blasphemy , the most major sin .

Also , if non-Catholics can’t understnad Catholics , U can’t blame Muslims for the misunderstanding ( if any). In other forum
( Islamic ) , a non-Catholic wrote that Catholics are
hell bound  ; I told him that you are lucky , our Catholic sis Jayda is not here now 🙂

Well technically Jesus is everyone’s savior but I doubt you’d say all people are Christians. But let me try and explain this in a context you’d identify with. If someone said that they believed in Allah, and that Mohammed was his prophet, and believed in the Quran. Yet believed Allah was a trinity like Christians would they still be Muslims? Or if they believed in Allah and in Mohammed but didn’t believe in the Quran would they still be Muslim?

This is the same with JW’s and Mormons. They do hold to some Christian ideas, but they fail to hold to the definitives of the Faith.

With all due respect, this cannot actually be completely true. I know that Muslims ask others to pray for them in times of need (which is totally appropriate), the prayers to the Saints, including the Virgin Mary is the same. We are asking them to pray for us to God. Talking or making requests of someone doesn’t constitute worship. It just doesn’t. Prayer is not worship it is the making of a request. Technically speaking when you ask to borrow a pen from a co-worker you’re “praying them”. It doesn’t mean you’re worshiping them, it just means you’re making a request of them. No matter how much you may have been told Christians worship Mary we don’t. Period.

I hope you aren’t thinking that we’re blaming Muslims for people not understanding the Faith. Muslims are part of a different religion so its not surprising that they would not understand aspects of the Church. However, when non-Christians are shown the official teachings of the Church on a matter they need to accept that they have misunderstood and move on.

So your sister is Catholic?

There is an interesting attraction to Our Lady of Fatima within the Islamic world where Muslims have a certain admiration towards Our Lady. In 1952, Catholic Bishop Fulton Sheen devoted a chapter in his book, “The World’s First Love”, to Mary and Muslims, and noted that Fatima is also the name of the favourite daughter of Muhammed (Islam’s lone messenger), and regards her as the highest woman in Heaven after Our Lady. (It is interesting to note that in 2007, an Islamic community near Melbourne Australia named their place of worhip the “Virgin Mary Mosque”.) There are millions of places in our world, but God may very well have chosen Fatima in Portugal for the miracles to take place, simply because of it’s name; This is believed to attract Muslims to follow Our Lady, who can lead us to God through her Son, Jesus Christ. (God came to be with us through Mary, and so Catholics believe that we can be with God through Mary.) Some say the name, Fatima, is just a co-incidence, but others say it’s a God-incidence. There are over a billion Muslims in the world today who are faithful and believe in God of Abraham, The Creator. But they do not know the Word of God. Who will teach them the Gospel? Could Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, be our hope for Muslims?

Muslims ask others to pray to God ; Catholics ask Mary (p) & Saints to grant something . The differences is clear . If u want I can browse for the prayers I saw on the net. Catholics were asking O Saint … I forgot the name …pl. grant me this etc etc. Not that O Saint , pl. pray to God for me.
So your sister is Catholic?
sadly Muslims & Chrisitans relationship is very hostile here . In the other forum , the relationship is not that horrible . When I write something to them or about them , normally I call them bro / sis. I personally don’t know Jayda , but I used to call her Sis Jayda there . I miss her there a lot .

How Mother Mary (p) is known as Fatima ? To my knowledge , this name is not mentioned in Bible . Do Christians name thier daugher as Fatima ? Fatima , Mariam ( same as Mary ) -these are common names for Muslim girls.

Fatima is a town in Portugal. Our Lady of Fátima is the title given to the vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary by those who believe that she appeared before three shepherd children at Fátima, Portugal on the 13th day of six consecutive months in 1917.

See it here for details. The information is quite accurate; I’ve gone through it myself.

That is your problem about the JW’s and Mormons. Perhaps you are wrong expellig JW’s and Mormons from the fold of christianity. You have no right to judge about that. So please “Do not Judge, otherwise you be judged.”.

No I don’t believe that the JW and the Mormon think of Jesus as Savior.

That’s my point. One cannot deny basic tenants of a religion and yet claim membership. You wouldn’t tolerate it in your religion why do you expect it of ours?

You might want re-read your first statement to me, in light of what you just said. There are many Muslims who don’t think that the Quran is incorrupt. Are you judging them by saying that they are not Muslims? By the standard you just applied to Christianity you are guilty of judging them.

Christians believe in eternal life, and that those in heaven are alive not dead. So in asking the Saints to pray for us, we are indeed asking the living. In fact those in Heaven can easily be said to be more “alive” than you or I. they are in a permanent state of existence. Why would you think that someone down here on earth is in a better position to pray for you than those already in Heaven?

Not in the traditional sense no. They do believe in Jesus, but for that matter so do Muslims. In fact I would say that Muslims have more “traditional” view of Jesus than either JW’s or Mormons. So if JW’s and Mormons must be considered Christians then Muslims must also be considered Christians.
