Today I was once again mesmerized by the power and blessings of our Lord. I was on my why back to work from lunch with my wife. I love my wife. I also love the fact that she works close enough that we can have lunch together on occasion.

Any way, a few months ago I started feeling that I wasn’t going anywhere at my current place of employment. I felt under appreciated and it was starting to think all my hard word was going unnoticed.

Around that same time, a neighbor of mine told me of a position that was available were she worked. The position would have been more pay, closer to home and a move up the latter. So, I decided to apply for the position. I prayed that I would get an interview and I did. I then prayed that I would do good on a management test I had to take for the position and be called back for a second interview. Not only did I get a second interview, they told me I had done very well on the test.

During the interview, everything was going well, but I was told that I didn’t have the management experience they were looking for. However, I was a going to be seriously considered for the position.

Driving home the day of the interview, I prayed that I would get a call back and would be offered the position. I was told that it might be awhile before I heard anything, but they would definitely give me a call either way. So, I waited. Then waited some more. After a few weeks, I called for a status on the position, because the position was still open. They told me it would be about another month, before they would make a decision. It has been about two months now and I still have not heard anything.

I kept wondering why my last prayer wasn’t answered. The Lord answered my first prayers, but not the last one. Then a couple weeks ago, I was informed that I was getting a raise at my current position. I then was given the honor of “Employee of the Month.” I realized that that even though the Lord didn’t answer my prayer, he gave me what I needed to feel good about what I was doing in my current position.

Later this afternoon I got an interesting call. A friend of mine told me the company that I was applying for, was going to be selling to out of town some investors. I also found out that in the past two months, they have had a number of layoffs. Including the management level positions that I was applying for. Had the Lord answered my prayer, I may be out of a job today.

The Lord touches us and blesses us in many different ways. One of those was, is by answering our prayers. And I found out today, that another way, is by not answering them.

Thank you Lord, for not answering that prayer!

Matt

May God bless you and continue to answer your prayers

Thank you for sharing your story. We really need to trust God to know what’s best for us, don’t we?🙂 Easier said than done, I know.

Actually we can say the Lord answered your prayer with a “No”.
God knows the best and cares the most.
All our prayers are answered - “Yes”, “No”, or “Wait”.

Merry Christmas to all members on CAF!
