I understand and I agree. Do you think a 2 week old sac that isnt even a baby, nor is it completely formed is the same as having an adult skinned alive and made out of lampshades, not to mention being led in the dark to a room naked and then burned alive? Come on here…🤷
I think you need to check the Catholic understanding of when life begins.

Hi hc,
I am against abortion, but I do not get involved with it. I do not overreact about it, nor would I hold signs for it. what I do know is I cant fathom anyone here who would compare an adult or child (Older than 1), who get their eyes cut out, who are burned alive, who sees their children die, shot to death before them, the minds that were tortured alone were despicable in the holocaust. I guess I cannot compare that to a 3 day old mass of whatever, (not a fetus yet as doctor’s have already proven), to these Jews who were mutilated. Are there any Jews here who feel like I feel?
Can you explain why you’re tallking about people older than 1 only? What if the person whoe eyes were cut out were younger than 1?

I understand that life “begins at conception” from the Catholic churches standpoint. But many others (doctors) do not believe this. And abortion should not be compared to the Holocaust Although some here will call it a Holocaust.😦

Hyperthetically speaking. Otherwise you’ll start with abortion again and this thread is not about abortion, but the Ungodly acts of the Nazi’s and what happens when what goes around comes around.

Including Pope JPII who called it a holocaust in his book Memory and Identity. They’re in good company 👍

As I have said, I have been to Yad Vashem TWICE in israel. There are two museums…one for the adults and one fo rthe children killed in the holocausr. Even some who are less than 1 year old. 😛 Actually, there were only about 7-8 pictures surrounded by mirrors which made it look like a million children. The music was haunting…I cried horrendously. I asked forgiveness for such an atrocity. I bought a book there also.

That being said, there are 6 other million people that were killed in this holocaust. And they were killed only because they were , CATHOLIC, HOMOSEXUAL, MENTALLY CHALLENGED, ETC ETC no different than the reason why they killed the Jews because they were JEWS.

And so it is the same as abortion…they are being killed because, like the Holocaust, THE BABIES ARE NOT WANTED…they are a hindrance no different than what Hitler thought about the Jews, the homosexulas, the catholics, etc…BECAUSE THEY ARE A HINDRANCE!

Why not put pictures of the Jews on here who were skinned alive, beaten, tortured and burned? Why not put up pictures of them dying from starvation? You cannot compare this to abortion. I don’t care what you say.

In both cases, the murderers see their victims as something less than human–or else human, but without God-given rights.

You are refusing to see the similarity, and instead are choosing to view abortion as the abortionists see it. These babies are either not human, or else they are human–human but not “persons” and therefor have no rights.

This has got to be a keeper! :rotfl:

So if it’s ok for you, “One True Catholic Apostle”, to disagree with a basic teaching of the Catholic Church, I trust that from this point forward you will not condemn anyone else who disagrees with the Church on this or any other issue? 👍

Let’s get this straight. I am NOT pro-choice. I simply do not compare abortion to the Holocaust. I am still a Catholic. I will never leave my faith nor my church. I don’t condemn anyone as you put it. I am not pro-choice. That’s it. Pretty simple.

Putting pro-choice and catholic in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

Catholics are pro-life, never pro-choice. By believing in pro-choice, you believe that the woman has the right to choose abortion.
OTCA says that she’s “NOT” pro-choice. I think she said it 2 or 3 times in the same post.

However, she does seem to believe that since the doctors don’t believe that life begins at conception, the murders are not really murders - the docs think that it’s either not human or not “person” with rights, including right to lifee.

What OTCA is missing, though she seems to be otherwise in touch with the Nazi atrocities, is that this (the thinking that some people aren’t worthy of life, have no rights, or aren’t “persons” with rights) is exactly how the Nazis justified the holocaust.

OTCA is saying that the WWII holocaust was horrible, but is failing to see that the same invalid thinking is what the pro-abortion camp uses to justify this holocaust.

It’s a shame that even Catholics are bamboozled by the rhetoric. For all the work the holocaust survivors do to make sure that no one forgets (so it won’t be repeated), it’s happening in our own neighborhoods, and people are falling for the same propaganda. Abortion is nothing but eugenics. Either the person killed is imperfect and so seen as a burden to soceity that we have the right (even the responsibility) to “elliminate”, or is otherwise a burden to the parent and so the parent has the right to “elliminate” it.

In the case of rape, it’s all about pedigree, isn’t it. If someone doesn’t approve of the father, kill the child. No “pure” woman should be forced to give birth to the child of a distasteful father-the child of a rapist. There is nothing wrong with the child–they just don’t like the family tree.

Weren’t all of those innocent children killed by the Nazis because of their pedigree? Because one or the other of the parents was “undesireable” and because society should not have to burden itself with these “defectives”?

Thinking about this, I wonder if people feel justified in having abortions in the case of divorce or when they no longer get along with the boyfriend. Or maybe when the father was abusive (though not a rapist). If you don’t like the father anymore, should you be “forced” to carry the offending offspring to term? Wouldn’t this also be an “unfair burden” and psychologically damaging to the mother? And isn’t that reason enough to deny the right to life to another individual?

You described a two-week-old fetus as “a 2 week old sac that isnt even a baby”. That is not Church teaching.

Wow! I missed that line. If it’s an accurate quote, OTCA has some work to do on the abortion issue. If she understood it better, she would understand why people call it a holocaust. She seems unmoved by the photos, though, so it must be that she truly believes that the unborn are not human. This thinking is contrary to Catholic teaching.
