Although the little girl swimsuits are cute, I would be afraid that the skirt like top might make swimming difficult. My daughters like to dunk their whole bodies underwater and such a long top would drag them down a bit. It would be hard to move your feet when you swim, also.
After exploring more on the “modest-swimwear” site, it looks like you can specify the length of the skirt as well as the length of the sleeves. I think for little ones, the most practical yet modest option is the ones that look more like a wet suit.

LOL I agree. I even let my self TAN (oh the horror!!!) just a little bit. I think it looks nice in the summer. (yes I know I’ll be wrinkled when I’m 60 I’ll deal with that when it comes:p )

Exactly.

I certainly agree. I think true modesty comes from a real true appreciation of beauty; the beauty inherent in ALL women and what being a woman means. Being truly modest has come from more than just fear of causing scandal.
Well, I avoided tanning as a young woman and guess what. Now at forty my face is sagging!!! Yes, God decided that I would look my age no matter what precaution I took against doing so.(Apparently, God has a sense of humor)

I agree with your definition of modesty. .

Is it comfortable. The price isn’t bad at all.
She hasn’t complained about it. They sell them at Target in the section with goggles and floatie vests. Ours is a Speedo. My reason is as much UV as it is modesty. We live in the south and are very fair.

Honestly, what I really like about it for me is that I don’t have to worry about bikini zone shaving.

Those burkinis are adorable. I could do without the designs on the front, but that’s minor. It’d be great for colder water too, or if you burn really easily (which I do) – and it’s way cuter than a wetsuit 😃

It hides my “poochy belly” from childbirth. I love it.
Poochy belly? Hah. Show me a non-burkini suit that can hide a poochy everything…then I’ll be impressed…and wearring it:D

Well, if you wear 14 or up, some of the suits at Junonia hid a whole lot :D. I haven’t tried one yet, but I have had some of their other clothes and they are usually well made

Looks too baggy to me. The burkini was much tighter, form-fitted, with pants and not a dress design. I would think that the tighter fitting the better when it comes to actual swimming. Of course, neither is likely to be adopted by competition swimmers. I think we’re just talking about lolling about in the shallow water, and sitting in the sand all day.
The burkini site also has suits that look more like the ones on that site…
Now see, I like these…If I were buying a swimsuit, I would order one like these. I like the idea of the 2 pieces, one the shorts & the other like a little dress over it.
I would go for fairly long pants & a nice short skirt. But I’m 😛 almost 60 &😛 over weight!!
I don’t know how to insert pics but I like the suits on this website. They are modest and intended for water activity - which would be hard in those dress type suits. The company seems to be motivated more by practicality than religion.

I like those little girl suits too!! 👍
These are nice. I have seen them in lists of clothes for Mormons. I don’t know if itsa Mormon company, or if they just make their suits to Mormon dress codes.

I get the Junonia catalog, & positively drool over it!
I especially like the fact that their size numbers make me 😃 sound like I’m skinny again!!😉

This is my suit. I have it in royal blue and I raised the shoulders considerably to show less cleavage. It hides my “poochy belly” from childbirth. I love it.
this is mine too…but I did not raise the straps:)
and yes it does really hid the pooch from having kids:thumbsup:

I saw a video on Reuters about Muslim swimwear called the Burkini.

ahiida.com/index.php?a=results&subcat=59

It was interesting. I have to admit it is admirable that Muslim women are trying to find ways to stay both active and modest.

The above is a link to the store that sells the Burkini not the Reuters report.
I’m not so sure. I looked at the women and I still saw them as objects of desire. Is it possible that they might be covered up a little bit more to stop me from sinning?

How about you cover up a little more – with a blindfold? Instant modesty-vision! 🙂
